Flipping the bird

You might think that having a bad costume like this is the worst thing facing the super-hero "Aviax":

aviax

But you'd be wrong. I grant you, having to walk around looking like someone's mushroom-induced Native American dreamcatcher / rotating baby mobile would be painful. And any outfit combining shirtlessness with elbow-high society-ball gloves would definitely be difficult.

But worse than looking like a loon -- far, far worse -- is being forced to use your powers to mate with a dinosaur in the hopes of one day creating loons!

You know you've lost the super-hero team sweepstakes when, in a motley crew like that, you're the one getting pitying looks for something other than your hideous costume.

Caption Contest 65: Bulletcharades

Come up with the best replacement dialog for this Bulletman panel and you'll win either a caricature of your gorgeous mug OR an item of your choice to be included in the final HeroMachine 3 version!

The rules are simple:

  • Leave your entry or entries in the comments to this post;
  • No more than three entries per person;
  • Keep it clean (appropriate for late-night broadcast TV).

That's even easier than falling down! I'll announce the winner next Tuesday. Make sure in your entry you indicate who is saying what, like so:

Bulletman: I think I might've crushed Bulletroach!
Bulletgirl: No, I think I snorted him in this nostril -- gross!

Good luck!

Character Contest 21 Winner

Lots of great entries this week, thanks to everyone who entered! I've selected a few after the jump to feature as Honorable Mentions before getting to the overall winner, but I think the level of performance this week across the board was very high. Just to recap, this was the contest where you had to produce an illustration based on a randomly generated character name.

Poll Position: Choose your real-life genre

A question for what kind of fantasy life you'd most like to be in:

Note that this isn't the kind of story you like the most necessarily, but which sort of world you'd actually want to live in. Discussion to follow ...

HM3: Women on top

I'm happy to announce the release of the first set of items for the female template in HeroMachine 3, "Tops-Female-Standard", which is a duplicate of the Tops-Male-Standard set only, you know, for girls. The items are a one-for-one match to the Male set, so don't expect to see anything new yet. Here's a look at some of them:

Hope you like them! I will likely next be moving on to "Legwear-Female-Standard" so that you have at least some options for properly outfitting a basic woman character. After that, we'll see -- probably either the Spandex stuff, female hair, or something new like Tops-Female-Halters.
