I’ve been lucky enough to have spent the last few weeks catching up on the wonders of Marvel Digital Comics, and along with finally watching some of the new “Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about what makes for good super-hero entertainment. And animated TV series are definitely a huge part of that.
So I want to know:

I’ve just posted the “Tops-Female-Fantasy-Common” set to HeroMachine 3, a conversion of the previously released male items to fit the standard female body. As usual, if you don’t see it on the list, clear your browser cache. Enjoy!

Known as the Centaur or the Archer to the Greeks, and “The Soldier” by the Babylonians, your challenge for this week is to design a character based on the concepts suggested by the Zodiac sign “Sagittarius“. Some of the traits of a Sagittarius are:

Positive:
Negative:
But hey, we’re not here to find a date, we’re here to create kick-ass characters, right?! Obvious takes would be anything centaur-like, whether with a classic horse or some other beast (or cyborg, whatever), or anything archer-related.
Whoever comes up with the best character will win a) his or her choice of either any item they like to be included in the final HeroMachine 3 version; b) a portrait to be included in the final HeroMachine 3 version, or c) a “sketch of the day” style custom drawing. The rules are fairly simple:
No limit on entries this week, so knock yourselves out. Just make them good!

Sorry for the late posting, I’ve been converting Female Fantasy Common items all day and time kind of slipped away from me. But without further ado, I am happy to announce that the winner of Caption Contest 88 is … Joshua!

Joshua, let me know what you’d like as your prize and I’ll throw it on the list. This was the one that made both John and I laugh right out loud the most, so we had to go with it.
I thought these entries were very funny as well:
Congratulations to Joshua for the win, and many thanks to not only the Finalists above, but to everyone who entered. Great job!

For some random reason, I woke up this morning thinking Doctor Octopus’ theme song should be “Crazy Arms”.
No, I do not understand how my brain works.
But it started me wondering what other songs would go well with established super-heroes. But pre-coffee, I can’t think of any. Which is where you come in. Are there other songs that go perfectly with a comics character? Let ’em rip in the comments!
