Poll Position: Ultron vs Brainiac

[polldaddy poll=”6755743″]

This weeks “Poll Position”  pits Marvel’s and DC’s two resident robotic evil  geniuses against each other!  I most say I have a hard time coming up with a winner on this one folks. When looking at the two side by side comparing powers and ability the two are “mostly” identical in power set. I do have to give the edge in brain power to Brainiac as I believe he is  the more intelligent of the two robots however I give the edge in durability to Ultron and his Adamantium body.

In the end I think this is too close to call and the likely outcome would be a draw. The two battling to a stalemate forming an uneasy alliance while plotting to dominating the other and just waiting for the chance to betray the other and take control! So who do you pick in this battle, Ultron, Brainiac, or do you like myself think they will tie ? Leave a comment below with your opinion!.

Character Contest #H02 “Cryptozoology”

“Cryptozoology” the study of creatures whose reported existence is unproved. Big Foot, Loch Ness and many more have been around for years, I want you to show me what you think they look like. No limit this week. Have fun and show us the Monsters.

Winner of Character Contest #H01

All of the entries were very good, but I can not make all of them the winner. There was one that stood out, and captured the meaning of the contest. I give you the winner of my first Character Contest: Worf.

P.S. I hope by next week to have all my ducks in a roll, and I will make my post a little fancier.

Djuby’s Pop Quiz #2 Winner

Djuby has picked his winner and here are the results:

Even though there were very few entries this week, I have gone back and forth between two images – well three initially for over an hour now. In the end, I have decided to go with the one that made me laugh out loud.

This weeks winner is The Atomic Punk

DJuby’s Pop Quiz #2: HeroMachine Has Left The Building!

The date was December 8, 1960. Pop idol Fabian visited Elvis Presley at Graceland and lent him his pants when Elvis ripped his demonstrating karate. It’s true; I looked it up.

Your challenge this week is to give us your best Elvis. Maybe it is young Elvis from GI Blues, black leather Elvis from his comeback special, white jumpsuit Elvis, zombie Elvis – whatever floats your boat.

All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine forums, ImageShack, PhotoBucket, or whatever);

  • Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
  • The image must be new and designed specifically for the Pop Quiz;
  • Please name your files as [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.
  • Please make the link go directly to the image (like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this). See this post on how to get the direct link for most sites.
  • You get one entry, so make it your hunk-a-hunk-a-burning best!

Contest closes Sunday, December 9th at 6:00pm eastern

Friday Open Critique Day #H1

Here it is, the day you waited all week for, “Friday” open critique day. Show us what you got and we will be happy to tell you what to do with it.

Sub-Mariner EXTREMMMEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

While I do not have the same art credential as our esteemed leader Mr. Hebert, I have decided none the less to take my own crack at presenting you, our most gracious community members with my own reviews of what I feel is the worst of SuperHero/Villian fashion sense. I do so hope you enjoy.

First up!

So this little bit of 90’s artwork makes me ask why the Sub-Marine decided to dress like a porcupine ?  No wait, I most apologize to the Mariner for that one, oh no the king of the sea would never dress up as some lowly land based creature! How dare I suggest such a thing. No No, what we obvious have here is the Sub-Mariners Alter ego “SEA URCHIN MAN”

Seriously folks this ensemble just screams EXTREME!!! From the fly away Savage hairdo  to the bristling spikes along his  forearms and legs he is the epitome of a 90’s redesign! Not sure what he was thinking when he put this number together unless it was an attempt to impress Sue Richards evil alter ego Malice!

( Just as an FYI starting next week I plan on having a Bad Costume post up every Wednesday so if you have any  suggestion on a bad costume you want mock send me a private message over on the forums telling what costume and a link to a picture if possible. )

Color my Character Challenge #1

Just for fun, lets see what you can come up with.

The Challenge is to color in the character, without changing the character other than adding color to it. You can add a background or other designs, but you can not take anything away from the Character. If you like this challenge I can add it to the list of weekly posts. The first character is “R.I.P” by ams. All you have to do is copy the text RIP-no-color by ams and  import it into Hero Machine and the character is ready to color.

Poll Position: Captain Marvel -vs- Captain Britain

It is time once again for our weekly versus match-up  This week I pit Captain Marvel against Captain Britain.

[polldaddy poll=”6742229″]

These two characters have a lot more in common then one might think. Both Marvel and Britain have been granted their powers by a wizard Shazam in Marvels case and Merlin in Britain’s.  Both characters have super human strength, and endurance as well  as the ability to fly. Where they differ is what may decide this match up. Britain has enhanced senses, though not as good as say Wolverines, they are still many times better then your average human beings, however he slowly begins to weaken and loss his powers should he leave the British isles  unless he is wearing his costume. Marvel on the other hand  has accelerated healing, and can summon lightning bolts which then can be use as a weapon so long as he is close enough to his opponent and manages to dodge them himself so as not to be transformed back into his normal child’s body. Marvels weakness however is that despite having the Wisdom of Solomon his is still just a boy in a mans body and I think this gives the advantage to his opponent in this confrontation thus I award this one to Captain Britain, but that’s just my opinion  Who do you think wins this one and why ? Leave a comment below explaining your choice.
