Character Contest 26 Prize

Jake and I have finished his HM3 prize for winning Character Contest 26 (Golden Oldies), a kobold body in Companions-Standard so Jake can outfit him like a regular character:

Caption Contest 54 Prize

I finally completed Blue Blazer's prize for winning Caption Contest 54, and have posted his Stretchy Arms to BodyMaleStandard in HeroMachine 3. You can place most gloves on them with a bit of manipulation, and if you use the Masking feature you can get a spandex look pretty easily. Enjoy!

I'm not sure what I have going on there in that image, sort of a Michael Jackson meets "When I Think Of You I Touch Myself" by way of Reed Richards. Or something. But you get the general idea.

Character Contest 28 Prize

Kaldath was in the right place at the right time, and I was able to get his HeroMachine 3 prize for the just-concluded Character Contest 28 (Child Of ...) done:

It's shown here colored, obviously, and in its default size and position. For longer fire-hair, you can use the Multiples setting, move one of the items all the way to the bottom of the stack, then scale it way up on the y-axis, like so:

Hopefully this will help make your fire-related characters easier to bring to life. Thanks to Kaldath for picking a great item for his prize!

Caption Contest 64 Prize

TheNate has approved his prize for winning Caption Contest 64, and it is now live in HeroMachine 3 under the Insignia-Standard set:

It works well either as a straight Native American style chest symbol, or if you scale it up and make it somewhat transparent, it can serve as a great body tattoo. Nice suggestion, Nate, thanks!

HM3 Coat

I am finally getting to the many back-logged contest prizes I owe people. The first to get approved is this Rocketeer-styled aviator jacket for Ian's Caption Contest 67 victory:

When I get to converting all the various Male tops over to the Female template, this one will go along with them.

Thanks for the request Ian, I think it's a great addition!

Character Contest 29: Armorium

In honor of the wee-inducing release of the Iron Man 2 trailer today, Character Contest 29 challenges you to come up with the best "Power Armor" character you can. If you are chosen as the winner, you'll get either any item you like, or a portrait of yourself, to be included in the final HeroMachine 3 release.

Contest rules are simple:

  • Create a character using any version of HeroMachine you like;
  • Post an image of that character on any publicly accessible web site (like PhotoBucket, ImageShack, the UGO Forums, etc.) and put the link to that image in a comment to this post;
  • Include the name of your character and a one-sentence summary of their powers or personality, something to quickly identify them for the viewer.

I'll pick the Finalists next Monday, though this time we'll go back to the old system of me just picking the Honorable Mentions and overall winner, by request in the comments.

No limit on entries this week so knock yourself out!

Caption Contest 71 VOTE!

Congratulations to our Finalists for Caption Contest 71! You can vote for as many as you think are award-worthy until next Monday, when the overall top vote getter will receive their choice of either a portrait of themselves, or any item they like, to be included in HeroMachine 3. Good luck!

Character Contest 28 Winner

Congratulations to Kaldath for winning Character Contest 28 with his unusually-posed "Spider-Cat", daughter of Spider-Man and Black Cat:

We're at the point of needing to rename this the Kaldath Award, I think. Congratulations to him and to all the great entrants for that contest, it was some really nice work.

Olympian Games – Target Shooting

The ability to blow up stuff at a distance is key for most super-powered comics characters, and the mighty beings in charge of the multi-dimensional Olympian Games would surely not leave the testing of such a skill off the event roster. And so we now ask you to consider the following (vote for three):

I don't want to prejudice the voting, but you by all means should do so in the comments. Make the case for your choices and bend the will of other readers to your own! Feel the POWER of the dark side!

Olympian Games Swimming Results

Thanks to everyone who voiced their opinion in the Olympian Games' Swimming Competition! On behalf of Main Man Hammerknight, I am happy to report the following characters are our winners:

medal-goldGold Medal: Aquaman (DC)
medal-silverSilver Medal: Namor the Sub-Mariner (Marvel)
medal-bronzeBronze Medal: Blue from Hellboy (Dark Horse)

Finally a publisher other than DC or Marvel breaks onto the medal stand! After three events, Marvel and DC are still tied, with four medals apiece, while Dark Horse makes their first move with one.

I am happy for Aquaman since, let's be honest, he doesn't have a lot going for him other than swimming ability. I mean, can you imagine Namor bothering to talk with a flounder or a herring? I think not.

ETA: Forgot the title. Oops.
