The List: 10 Things Marvel Should Do To Make Another MCU Hulk Film

So, the big green guy hasn’t had the best career on the big screen has he. The 2003 film was, let’s be charitable and say not good, and the MCU reboot of the character has been pretty solid so far, if you ignore the fact that his solo movie had a completely different lead actor to the guy who is playing Hulk now and the film is pretty much forgotten otherwise. However, it is unlikely that there won’t be another Hulk film at some point, the character is too popular and everyone is pretty much in agreement that Mark Ruffalo is a perfect fit for Bruce Banner, so how should they do it? Well, here are a few ideas. I’m not going to try to write the whole movie this time, I’ve just got the outlines of two ways it could go.

caption-contest-79-blank

Here are my top 5:

The Atomic Punk: Can I borrow your hat?

Calvary Red: Hey, are you going to be the Fantastic Four sequel?

Katmir: Haha, brain freeze! I told you to start with Brazil, but Nooooo…!

Worf: Duuuude! That fart! Are you turning into a big ball of gas again????

John Bakke: So I was thinking along the lines of “The Chrome Wakeboarder”. But then I was told that might get me in trouble for copyright infringement. Anyways I billed a shipment of metallic spray paint to your credit card. Also, you owe me five new spare suits… When do I start?

And the winner is….

Character Design Challenge #190 – Just For The Record

album-contest

First off, due to Canadian Thanksgiving, I will be out of town from October 4th to October 12th. So this is…get ready for it…a 2 week Character Design Challenge. It will close at 9am on Sunday, October 16th.

And now to the fun part; using the Insignia – Standard – Square enlarged to at least 700 x 700 (larger if you prefer) , your challenge is to design an album cover for a fictional artist or group.

There is no limit on the number of entries. Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. Only post characters that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShackPhotoBucket, or whatever);

  • Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;

Hey, I Remember That! Rewatching Digimon: Digital Monsters

We all remember the TV shows we watched and loved as kids. As adults we grumble about the ‘quality of kids’ shows these days’, but what about the ones we remember so fondly?  They may hold a place in our hearts and in our nostalgias, but what happens when you re-watch some of those shows now? Well, thanks to DVD release and streaming options like Netflix, this task is simpler than ever. So, with that in mind, I thought I would go back and look at some of these and give my thoughts on how they’ve aged, or at least how they fare through adult eyes. So first up is the one that we’ve actually been watching a lot of lately, Digimon: Digital Monsters (or Digimon Adventure). I’m talking only about Season/Series 1 here, because that’s the one I remember watching. To be fair, it’s a season of 54 episodes, so there’s plenty to talk about.

Poll Position: Greatest Star Wars Character

Ok, guys, going to try something a bit different this week. I’m looking for ways to make my Tuesday List series a bit more interactive, so what I’m going to try out is bringing back the Poll Position series and have you guys vote on a category I’m planning to do in the future. I’ve included 20 answers already (the main characters throughout the entire Star Wars series) and I’ve left an option open for you guys to add your own answers. You can vote for as many as you like and I’ll take the 10 characters with the highest votes and use that as the basis for the list in 2 weeks time.

To clarify, I’ve separated characters that are played by different actors between trilogies (Yoda doesn’t count here as he’s a puppet/ CGI).

Caption Contest #79

Ok guys, time for another caption contest, where you have to come up with the funniest replacement dialogue for a random comic panel of my choice. This week, you’re replacing the dialogue for this:

The List: Top 10 Stan Lee Marvel Movie Cameos

We all know who Stan Lee is right? He’s that guy who is executive producer for pretty much all Marvel’s movies and who can’t stop inserting himself into the film with random cameos. Oh and he might have written some comics once.

But considering his fame as a Marvel Movie Where’s Waldo, we might as well take some time to count down his greatest achievements in the realm of the silver screen. Here’s my list of Stan Lee’s top 10 greatest cinematic performances…. or just the best cameos he makes in Marvel movies. The first one sounds better though.
