Character Contest #H06 “Name Game”

For the contest this week I am turning to my phone app to get Super Heroes / Villains names. I am listing five names for you to choose from.

“Kid Dart”, “Rogue Master”, “Professor Witch”, “Mega Hairball”,                and “Kid Weapons”. Your choice, they can be hero or villain which ever you like. Include their name and if they are good or bad. No limit this week. Remember the character must be made with HM and can only be cropped in any other program. Also save your characters text just in case any questions arise.(Sorry to say this, but there is reason behind it.) Most of all have fun creating.

Quick and Easy Challenge #3 “Hair Style” Winner

Well, when HK said this challenge was to design a hairdo for females, I thought, “Oh yeah, this sounds like my kind of challenge.” Then he told me that I couldn’t enter because I was going to be the Judge. Darn!

Wow ya’ll have really outdone yourselves on this one. There were alot of standouts. I would like to know just how many hair pieces you had to use Harlequin on your entries. I really liked your second entry, very well put together. And Kieth_Kanin, no one said it had to be a pretty HUMAN female, did they? Nice job on the feline hair, that’s pretty darn cool. Worf, I like that you chose to do both of your’s using the same character. I like the hair up/down concept. That was how I was wanting HK to make this challenge, but he has other things in mind.

Everyone did an outstanding job and I don’t have enough room or time to go over just what I like about each and every one.

So without further ado, My pick for this challenge is djuby’s female hairstyle. I like the otherworldliness of it. It reminds me of a character that I made up in one of HK’s stories that had long hair that she would wear in a braid with metal objects in it to use as a weapon. I could so totally see this one in the story.

Thank you to everyone that entered, and congratulations to djuby on a job very well done.

BE SURE TO SAVE YOUR TEXTS FROM THIS CHALLENGE. YOU WILL FIND OUT WHY LATER.

Quick and Easy Challenge #3 “Hair Style”

For today’s Challenge it is time for a new hair style. Simple, all you need is the head, neck, hair and a nice pretty face. There is no easy out, it can not be a simple hair item from the Hair section, it has to be a custom hair design. Plus my lovely wife Isia will be doing the judging for today, and for the challenge for next week. She says there is no limit this week, but make sure you keep your character and text for next weeks challenge. Same rules as always it must be HM only, no other programs (except for cropping) can be used.how-to-post-cartoon-620x799Quick Note -Contests

Good luck and happy Machining.

Kid’s Korner #2

I know that we only had three entries last week, but I don’t what to give it up this soon. So this week make me some “Hero Machiniacs” for the “Hero Machiniacs Beware” cards. I’m looking for “Archers and Rangers” type this week. So have fun. No limit this week.

Art Head BaseHere is a base character so that you can have the right sizes to use. You are allowed to change items to make male or female characters, but the sizes need to stay the same. You can add clothing and accessories. Rules for posting your characters are the same as any other contest or challenge. No limit. So have fun with your kids. I will post the winners on Monday, so you can have all weekend to work on your characters. Still no prizes for challenges, but for this one you get to spend times with your kids and that is better then any prize. Also remember to include the characters name.

Quick Tips “Attention to Detail”

I posted this to the forums way back when, and I was thinking a quick tip here and there would be good to post here on the blog. If everyone likes the idea, I will post tips here and there from here on. There are a lot of tips in the forums, but I know that there are people that do not visit the forums that do visit the blog.

Remember to size the head to the body. Paying attention to these little details can make a big difference in the way your character looks. This shows the heads at x=100 y=100 and the bodies at x=100 y=100. Adjustments to the head or the body is needed to make the character look right.size-match

Strike a Pose Challenge #2

After the big response we had last week I decided to do another pose this week.

The rules are still the same. No limit this week. One thing to add, if you name your character please include it so that I can put it with your character when I put them in the comic pages.

A big thanks to livewyre1014 for the pose.

Bad Super Costumes

stormHere is my go at Bad Costume day. I’m going with this version of Storm. When I think of Storm I think of a long white haired woman floating in the sky like an angel. Then they go and give her a mohawk dress her like a bad punk rocker. What can I say, I didn’t like it at all.  A big get well soon goes out to Kaldath, hope that you are feeling better soon.
