JR19759KeymasterI like ’em. Especially how you used the shoulder pads as a bustier on Wild Thing.
JR19759KeymasterMight I suggest something slightly different. I think the organic approach we have right now may be the way to go with this. Everyone is keeping an eye on what everyone else is writing and we can see how their characters are developing and guessing where they are going next. We already have defined points of interest (the NPC characters) that we are each incorperating into the story, so why don’t we build the crossovers around them, for example Iscarioto’s character meets up with the Triad boss, my character meets up with the Red Hand boss who suggests that they search for the Triad boss if they want help, crossover between my character and Iscarioto’s maybe two chapters (one written by each, instead of two view points of the same chapter, as it would be in a normal story or comic) then the two split off and do other things for a while. Then everyone meets up at the end for the grand finale.
When the crossovers happen it would be advisable to pre-warn and ask for permission from who ever you are planning to crossover with, to avoid confusion of you writing stories that occur at the same time in two completely different places.
I’ll also add my two pennies worth on the outline. I think it would be better if the forming a resistance came later on. Let everyone go their own way for a bit, try to find out some stuff before bringing everyone together in the finale. We have so many NPC’s that can be bought in and/or investigated that we could all go off on tangents for a while to bring these guys into play before we all get mixed up in interaction between our characters.
Also, I think that in this context the costumes should be as bare minimum as possible/ as realistic as possible, if we should bother with them at all. If you think about it, we are right in the middle of a war zone here. Who in their right mind (or even not in their right mind) sits down to do some fashion design when they have cyborgs shooting lasers at them? I can understand getting some sort of protective bodysuit/ bullet proof clothing and that sort of thing, but going the full spandex would be stupid.
I’ve got another idea for an embellishment of one of the NPC’s. Because the guy who created Empty Vessel has gone missing, wouldn’t it be a good ploy on the behalf of Ascension to put a few robot doubles out in the streets to lure in people who might be trying to find him? Just a thought, and one I will probably run with (although that shouldn’t stop you guys from incorperating it if you want).
JR19759KeymasterJust to let the rest of you guys know (as I have already spoken to Iscarioto about this), I’m gonna start to work the stories already on the thread into some sort of workable comic-book script, so when we get to doing illustrations we know how each part of the story fits together. Obviously not everything will be included but I will try to be as faithful to the original works that have been posted as possible. When I’m finished I’ll post it up on this thread for you guys to see and make your own edits until we have something we are all happy with. Hopefully this will fit in with the other ideas people have for this thing.
Obviously it helps if people read what has been posted before and incorporate significant events (like the landing of the triangle ships) as it makes it easier for me to pinpoint when everything is happening.
If anyone has any objections or questions please say.

BTW, I really like what you did with this JR19759
Thanks. Just make sure yours isn’t as good please

JR19759KeymasterThanks SS. Sorry everyone else. I forgot about this. It’ll be interesting to see if anyone enters this week as I was the only one last week.
Anyway, here’s my guy. Just add your guy.
Scarlet Centurion

JR19759KeymasterHere’s my idea. I haven’t shaded it because that would be like sacrilege.

You could call him something like The Bronze Battler
Here’s the text, if you want to shade him.

That it is. But I have an idea in the works, as you and i discussed in our PM, competitions perhaps where people who read through, wether authors or not, can pick out a scene event or passage and illustrate it, not unlike a story book page, and if the author of the passage in question agrees it can be inserted into it to illustrate the story.
I’m struggling to explain it, too much writing tonight haha. Okay, brief example below:
David raised his head, his eyes full of fire
_________________________________________

| Eye picture woooooaaahhh!!!!!!! |
|
_________________________________________Rage boiled inside him, a feeling he’d never met
A feeling he could never control
He reached out and touched the source__________________________________________
|
| haha, it’s tomato sauce (ketchup?)
|
___________________________________________and so on. Not saying a frame every second line or whatever, but if there is a key point, and if it reaches out to somebody and they think – wow, I want to try and make that – then awesome.
Then we have an illustrated story book.
By the way, the callibre of the writing here is incredible
And so in line with how I am picturing it all, like, nothing has made me go “ooh that’s wrong” most of it is “holy crap, that works so well!”
I’m giddy.
Works better than my idea actually, but I’ll still do my outline and you can see what you think. We’d still need to worry about how it all fits together, so having an outline of where everything goes, what events are happening simultaneously and all that would help with the illustrations.
So far, I have to agree, everyone’s bits have been amazing. I’ll get to adding wrongness later
JR19759KeymasterThanks Iscarioto.
I’ve just been thinking, judging by the length of what we’ve already got and considering that it’s only been a day and a bit since the thread started, we’re gonna have a huge-ass 1st issue if we leave this first issue until next Wednesday.
JR19759KeymasterOk, this is the last day for entries into this quiz before I hand over to Myro for the next quiz.
Here’s the current leader board.1. Vampyrist- 17
1. Trekkie- 17
2. Myro- 16
3. Herr D- 3
JR19759KeymasterLooking forward to it.
JR19759KeymasterIf I can quote something that I said to AMS once: “Can you every actually do anything that isn’t perfect?”
JR19759KeymasterBeen listening to much Hendrix recently?
JR19759KeymasterLooks good. The pupils could use moving down a tad though.
Neat shading as well.
JR19759KeymasterLooks like Juggernaut’s gone medieval.
JR19759KeymasterThanks guys
