Very well said. We are in fact, all “ghosts” in a machine…

Hey! I resemble that remark. I mean–uh, yes. Thank you, prs. Smile

The Battle-ready Overhead Intelligence Drone, or B.O.I.D., was designed for recon by a roboticist with a wicked sense of humor.

It passed over my car, dropping pieces of a Chevy Nova.

So there’s this courier in the alley who says he has a special delivery?

    http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u438/jamais5/2013hm/HerrD-SpecialDelivery_zps08eaff3d.png

I’m not signing for it. You?

[odd noises] “Anarchangel? This is a C.O.D. delivery. Chrysalis Or Die. Sign here please.” [holds up clipboard]

Entered across the hall in the chess piece contest.

This could be the underwater kingdom chess set.

The white prawn pictured here, I’m pointing out, is a true prawn. Prawns have larger 2nd legs; shrimp have larger first legs. Prawns also have much larger antennae unless they learn to fight with tridents. I’m told they come out like hair rather than break. His name is Royce. The trident doesn’t have a name, just a dedication song: “Tines like these were made for basters, Royce.”

As a Gothenburgian I approve of both the pun and the prawn. Great work!

Thanks, Weilyn. Are prawns and puns particularly prevalent in Gothenburg? Wink

Oh, yes. We are greatly proud of our puns and our fondness of arthoropods. Sort of like the Japan of Scandinavia.

Um . . . I’m sure that this next is ALLOWABLE, but those who enjoy my so-called usual might not peek at this one.

because of WHY it belongs to the Greek god hero contest:

“She explained that she appeared at that point in the old storeroom because she found a ‘dead end.’ The gray thing she carried hadn’t a DROP of blood on it. She said that it’s a dend-rit-ic pho-ton-ic converter. She said that means she points it at someone, and then, anyone they look at she can ‘jump’ to them? When she’s in someone’s brain who deserves capital punishment by the standards of America, or when she thinks it’s close enough, she says she springs, full-size, out of their head, exploding their skull. She said a full analysis of their actions can take fifteen minutes ’cause she has to weed out dreams and vivid wishes and stuff. She calls herself Athena Springs ’cause the Greek goddess Athena jumped out of someone’s head.

What? No. That was an hour ago. I’ve got this odd headache, but I’m scared to take anything ever since she disappeared with that thing pointed at me. I think I annoyed her when I asked her what happened to her foot. So . . . are you the doctor that volunteers at the prison? Just asking. No–my headache just left!”

Okay, so maybe that’s a bit of an obscure reference.

Bubba always loved to fish, and drink, and eat. People used to joke about how he would someday be too big for his boat. Well, he’ll be losing some weight during his stay at the county Rehab Center.
He tried his luck up at Lake Wannagitchu early this morning for the first time. Some people say he had one too many beers.

Of course, the old Native American legends MIGHT be true . . .

Thank you–and watch where you fish. Half of Bubba’s boat seems to be missing.

I forgot about posting this one here, though I think it definitely has the mind of an eight-year-old behind it.

The idea of this contest, I thought, was to post a bike that a young boy would find supercool. My imagination when I was young was more than a “Hell’s Angel.” In fact, my imagination scared some adults more than the thought of nuclear war. But really, in the mind of an eight-year-old male, what could be more ORDINARY than a bicycle with AC and rocket launchers to do loop-de-loops while fighting armed mutant alien criminal fugitive martial arts master monsters?

The bike being sentient might have been a bit much though.

The superhero generator put me in a twist: I use a different computer at work and at home, wear different clothes, and have different stuff nearby. –but aren’t most of us two different people at work and at home?

    http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u438/jamais5/2013hm/HerrD-ThePurtyDare_zps7491aeb3.png

. . . and don’t ALL of us have reason to be super at both?
