Poll Position: Anime vs Western Cartoons

Anime vs WC

Folks this weeks Poll Position I am going to ask you a simple question. Which do you prefer to watch Western Style Cartoons or Japanese Anime?

[polldaddy poll="7022236"]

I personally prefer anime over most western cartoon. There is just something about Anime that appeals to me over most cartoons you see on us TV. Don't get me wrong there are a far number of cartoons that I enjoy but if given a choice of watching say Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes or Ranma 1/2 I will choose watching Ranma 1/2.

Monday Night Movie Club #1 “Batman Movies”

Today I am starting a Movie club. I'll post a movie category and it is up to you to watch one or more movies from it during the week. When I post the next week's post you will be able to post your reviews of the movies that you watched. So no reviews under today's post, but you can make movie category suggestions this week. There is a limit of 200 words(max) per review, this should keep them short enough. If you think you need spoiler alerts you can use them. I think this will be fun and it will also give everyone more insight as to what movies to try and watch.

Character Design Contest #19 “Great Balls of Fire”

This week's contest is to design a character that is a fire element character. Limit of two this week. Also, last week a few characters were disqualified because they did not have the creator's name in the file name. Please remember to do this, it is a big help when it comes to posting the characters.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings.

Sci-Fi Sunday #1

I have moved Sci-Fi Saturday to Sunday afternoons. I am having a go at redoing my side of the blog in hopes to have more visits to the blog. Today let's talk Dr. Who and Firefly. I have only watched one or two seasons of Dr. Who and I have only watched one(maybe two) episodes of Firefly. So it is up to you today to run the show. I do plan on watching more of both of them on Netflix here soon.

Share Day / Open Critique Day #1

I am going to put Share Day and Open Critique Day together for now on. I think Sundays will work out the best for them. So show us your art or tell us one of your stories, let us see how artistic you have been.

Comic Book Superstars #1

Comic Book Superstars, the best of the best, the ones you love the most. Each week I am going to post a comic book superstar to talk about. Talk about your likes and dislikes. Talk about up coming movies. Talk about anything you want to, as long as it has something to do with the superstar posted. Today let's talk about the man that started it all, Superman. He has been around for 74 years now, wow! I can remember hearing about when he first  started (I'm old but not old enough to have first hand memories of his first appearance) he was an hit. He didn't fly back then, but he sure could jump. Man would I like to find a box in the attic that has a mint condition issue of the first appearance of Superman. Of course I don't think I would have it for very long, what can I say money is tight these days, I could only hope the person that boxed it up had two issues of it. Anyway, what do you have to say about Superman?

P.S. This is the new Saturday afternoon post.

Saturday Morning Cartoons #1

It is Saturday morning here so let's talk toons. When I was young Saturday morning cartoons were what I lived for. It was something I waited for all week. To tell you the truth I still love my cartoons. I just don't think that the shows they have on today are cartoons. The artwork is very low rate. The story lines are all the same (bad) and I don't think that kids should be watching some of them. Most of the cartoons when I was a kid taught you something each week, to quote "G.I. Joe" "Knowing is half the battle." They showed you the difference between right and wrong and a lot more. For the topic today let's talk about "Scooby Doo", it is fresh on my mine because I started watching the 2011(?) "Scooby Doo" on Netflix this week. What do you think, like, dislike, about Scooby and the Gang?

P.S. We are redoing the weekly line up and "Saturday Morning Cartoons" will be the new morning post.
