Just wanted to give you a heads-up that a minor tweak to the HeroMachine 3 Alpha has been uploaded (version A.22) that improves the performance of the scroll bars in the Load/Save window. You can now hold the arrows down and the list will scroll on its own, or you can drag the little handle in the middle for more rapid manual scrolling.
I thought I'd fixed the "sort by date" bug on that screen too, but it turns out it's still broken. Feh.
I’d noticed this little quirk, but hadn’t said anything yet; thanks for taking care of it.
OK, another quick update, I think the date sorting is working now. If someone can check with their own save file (especially if it’s a nice long one), I’d appreciate it.
I also updated the format of the date field itself so it’s (hopefully) more readable. And so it all fits on-screen. I took out the GMT stuff, now it ought to report in your local time.
This is pretty much amazing news for those of us with large save files. No more having to start save names with numbers to make finding them bearable!
I loaded up a save file with somewhere around a hundred saves going back to May of last year, and the sorting by date works perfectly.
Date sorting seems to be working for me now. Both these fixes will make loading and saving way easier! š
Beautiful. Just as I’m about to speak up it gets fixed. Better and better I tell you.
Great stuff! Thanks, Jeff.
Thanks, it will be helpful.
Great job, Jeff. Will the scroll bar for items work this way too? I think it works fine the way it is now, just wondering.
Jake, no, I plan on keeping the item scroller working the same way as it currently does. I like the “one screen of items per click” method better in this case.
I have a suggestions Jeff. It appears now that the center of the actual image is not centered in the viewing portion of the HM3 application. For an image to be in the exact center it actually appears to be off towards the left. Can it be changed so that when the program first starts the center of the image is in the center of the viewing area?
