Cosplay Update- T-Minus 2 Months!

Guys, when was the last time I wrote a post? Okay, I can look that up easily enough but I think we can all agree it's been too long. Mostly because I've been working my butt off in available moments on cosplay. It's exactly 2 months now (2 months from TODAY is Day One of Bran-Con!) and I'm starting to feel the con-crunch. That might seem a little premature, but between a couple of intense weeks coming up at work (including hardcore training and then running a whole department to myself!) and school starting in a couple of weeks, I'm feeling the squeeze already. So here's a big ol' progress dump and lots of pictures.

The List: Top 10 Greatest Marvel Supervillains

So, in our last poll I asked you guys to vote on who you think is Marvel's greatest supervillain and, as with when we did Marvel's greatest superhero we got a pretty good response, although this list is probably going to be slightly more predictable even if we don't have a very obvious winner. Anyway, let's jump in shall we.

Honorable Mentions (or should it be dishonorable as it's villains?): Doctor Octopus, the Venom Symbiote, Apocalypse

CDC #427 – Team Building – Volume 2 – Part 15 – Finale

So first of all, I have to thank all the creators that came out to play over the past 14 weeks or so. You continually surprise me with your creativity and talent. So now we are down to the last challenge: to design a logo and come up with a name for both the team of heroes and the team of villains. Last year’s winning names were The New Samaritans and Lunatic Fringe. If you decide to enter  you must enter all four segments (2 logos and 2 names). Also, one person might not win it all. There could be as many as 4 winners

The prize for winning…or being one of the winners….will be a hero or villain based on you and designed by me to add to the existing roster of 8 members per team. As a reminder the members are:

Heroes:

  Totem   Mach 20

 Raptor or  Harpie (tie)

 Gauntlet    Achillia

 Apollo      Beacon

  Flare

You Decide Our Next Poll

Ok guys, I don't know what to do as our next poll. The obvious way to go after doing Marvel's Greatest Superheroes and the their Greatest Supervillains is to do DC next, but I have one problem with that, I can already write both lists down to each position without needing the poll and that just defeats the purpose. But, just in case you want to do that, I'll give you a choice. Next week we can either do DC's Greatest Superheroes or The Greatest Superhero Teams, your choice. The poll will be open till Monday, when the List from our last poll will go up and then next Monday we'll do which ever poll gets the most votes here. Sound good?

CDC #426 – Team Building – Volume 2 – Part 14

The premise of this contest is that over the next number of weeks we will build a team of superheroes and a team of villains. Each week I will supply you with a role, name, or list of powers of one of the team members and you will use HM3 to create the character. The winner each week will win a version of their character created on HM by yours truly.

Your challenge this week is to design the villain teams second to last member – Wildfire.

Besides the design you must also come up with Wildfire’s “aka”, background and the list of his or her powers.

Please follow the instructions below regarding the naming of entries.

Enter as often as you like!

The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. Please keep all submissions PG13: full or partial nudity is prohibited. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShack, Deviant Art or whatever);Do not use Photobucket.

  • No copyrighted characters please – they will be deleted.

This contest will close at 9am Eastern on Sunday, August 18th.
