KHU

Hey eveyone, I am here with another KHU ( Kaldath Health Update). Going to try and keep this brief as sitting at my computer hurts my chest and I hate using my phone to write posts. Bad news first, the daptomycin that I am taking to battle the MRSA continues to  cause me a little more pain everyday. Everyday I am on the stuff I find it harder to make it through the day without having to resort to percription pain killler and the less ibuprofen and tylenol help me. To make matters worse I had car troubles the other day and in the process of getting the car running again ended up spraining my wrist which just adds another spot of pain to my already growing list.

The good news, my left shoulder which has been in agony for over a month now due to the infection has begun to feel better. The pain is mostly gone so long as I do not over do things with it which is hard not to do at times considering I am left handed.  Also since I had gotten out of the hospital ( the first time ) I have been very sensitive to cold temps. What used to feel comfortable for me in the past is suddenly now freezing cold,. Not sure if this is due to the Mrsa, my medications or a combination of the two, however things have begun to improve on that front in the last couple days. While I find the temps my family keep the houses Air conditioner set to still to be comfortably  chilly I no longer need to put on a jacket and wrap myself in a blanket to stay warm. So in summation pain is still a very big issue with me at the moment but there are some promising signs that the meds are working to knock this nasty infection right out of me!

STOP PRESS: Marvel and Fox working on possible X-Men TV show?

Ok, so this might be the most interesting and exciting news since.... I don't know, a long time probably. Fox and Marvel appear to have to come to a deal that will see the two collaborate on an X-Men live action TV show.

The project is currently unnamed and probably isn't going to be what you'd first expect. The current information is that it will focus on a family who discover that their son has mutant powers and have to go on the run from a hostile government and find refuge with an underground group/ network of mutants.

There's a lot of different ways this could go, because of how loose the current plot description is. They don't mention any characters involved, so the mutant son could be any major or minor X-Men character. A hostile government suggests Sentinels, but that isn't confirmed and an underground network of mutants could be any number of groups from the X-Men franchise, be it the X-Men themselves (as a more gritty and realistic imagining) it could be one of the newer X-Factor groups or, hell, it could even mean the Morlocks. It also hasn't been stated whether or not this will tie in with the X-Men film series. If it does, then we are likely to see a focus on less well known characters that haven't featured or haven't featured heavily in the films. If it doesn't, then we could see reimagining's of everyone's favourite mutants for an episodic format.

The most exciting thing about this whole thing however is the fact that Marvel and Fox are working together on this project. Now, I can't be the only one who sees this and immediately thinks, Marvel have the MCU, Fox have X-Men and The Fantastic Four, they are collaborating on a project together involving one of those groups.... so X-Men for MCU? It is way too early to know what is going to happen here, but as with Spider-Man, if some sort of deal can be worked out both sides make ALL OF THE MONEY, and the fans literally lose all of their minds, all of them. Because who doesn't want to see the X-Men in the MCU, especially if this TV series doesn't have anything to do with the film series, because then you don't have to worry about fitting the X-Men films stupidly complicated timeline in with the MCU.

You can read the full article as published by Variety here. Thoughts down in the comments below people. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of you who are excited about this project.

And with that.

JR out.

The List: Top 10 Legacy Heroes

So, Tony Stark is to be replaced as Iron Man by Riri Williams, a 15 year old African-American student who also happens to be a girl. Apart from the obvious misnomer, this could be either a really inspired move or a cynical shock value based cash grab with allusions to appeasing people who are demanding more heroes of ethnic minorities, and lets be honest, it's probably a bit of both. This also means that within the last 6 years, Marvel have replaced all 6 of their big 6 heroes (Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Captain America, Thor and now Iron Man) with new characters. So what better time to look at some of the heroes that took up the mantel of an already established hero and actually succeeded. As a rule I am going to be excluding characters created during DC's Silver Age revival of the superhero genre (e.g. Barry Allen replacing Jay Garrick or Hal Jordan replacing Alan Scott), as, whilst these characters are probably the definitive versions of of that superhero lineage, these neither character existed in the same universe at the time and as such were not aware of the lineage they were taking on (unless you count Barry Allen reading Flash comics and thinking Jay Garrick was a fictional character).

Warning: Opinions below. You have been warned.

This week's winner is Tango. Great minimalist approach. The shadow behind is eerie and effective, and the grey scale highlighted by the red is spot on.

Pop Quiz – Savage Beauty

727f660d2dec74b53652999e69b49573

Savage Beauty was an art exhibition held in 2011 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art featuring clothing created by British fashion designer Alexander McQueen, as well as accessories created for his runway shows. The exhibit was extremely popular in New York City and resulted in record attendance for the museum.

A master of the Avant Garde, McQueen played with extreme silhouettes and materials; the dress posted above was made of razor clam shells.

Your challenge this week is to design a character that personifies the idea of Savage Beauty.

This is a link to my McQueen Pinterest page to help inspire you.

You only get one entry so be creative, and above all else, have fun!

All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShackPhotoBucket, or whatever);

Yep another update!

Kaldath here again to keep you all updated.  i'm being released from the hospital again today which is good news the bad news I've been diagnosed with MRSA I have several small pockets of the infection in my chest.  I now have to have daily IV infusions of a very strong antibiotic for the next five weeks and then get retested. If the antibiotics don't work I'm going to have to have surgery to have those pockets of infection drained.  i've already had one pocket it drain and  and dealing with a great feel pain right now and I'm afraid that I might be MIA for a few months and weeks at this point but I'll try to keep you updated on my condition  if you'd like me to.  I'm not in the best of spirits but I'm not no in the worst if spirits either. I'm hoping the antibiotics work and that I'll be back to my normal self in a month or so.  wish me luck everybody!

The List: Things Marvel Got Wrong With The First 2 Stages Of The MCU

Ok, gonna try a different kind of list this week. Instead of doing a top 10, I'm going to go through each of Marvels Stage 1 and 2 films and find the problems. This is going to be interesting.
