Ouch–I was thinking of the wrong legend. ‘Hide’ a thumb inside the seal skin, then. As far as the background goes, sea is tough. Rocky promontories can be cobbled together for interesting shapes. Embiggened capes and hair do pretty well. That’s part of what I did for my ‘The 2 Explorers’ background. A vague ship shape hidden by fog is something you might do very well, based on some of your pieces . . .

Adding seal spots to the woman half works well. Personally I like a fading effect from body to body. I understand some people prefer a ‘lip’ or ridge of a third color between them. I’m afraid I don’t know what’s easier or more effective overall.

Why thank you, Luc. Consider the dress a slip. A Freudian slip. I am proposing that this next be due on 1/5/13. That way we get back to approximately a week in short order. Unless ams objects, in which case he should post that info here. I am attempting to post this contest’s three pieces with an unfamiliar system and method, so if it fails, I will be posting next about 2pm Eastern.

Well, Glubbie only had a brief solo career before nesting and traditional mother-sequestering, but many think that after her brood is weaned, she’ll make a comeback album. Of course, in eighty-three years, she won’t have many fans left.
