Those are actually cybernetic ocular implants fused into his nervous system that can read visual information and transmit it to his brain in the same manner as his organic eyes. I ripped off… er… was inspired by the idea of Kim Süskind from Planetary who used similar goggles to allow her to still see while invisible.
