The soulless villain Negaman, a being composed completely of anti-matter, found a way to extract a piece of himself, thereby creating an extremely dangerous weapon. When the Negabomb went off in downtown Caligo, it did not destroy any buildings or people. Instead, it created negative copies of all of Caligo’s many superheroes, giving rise to the largest army of evil the world had ever seen.Cocoon is the negative of Krysalis, a Neptunian with butterfly wings and the ability to create chrysalises that can heal. Cocoon has the same type of wings, but her cocoons bring death to any caught within them.

Jebediah was once an undertaker and casket maker in the old west town of Wylde, nestled in the valley of the Horseshoe Mountains. When a star fell from the sky, all of the townsfolk of Wylde began exhibiting strange new super powers, just as a heavy snowfall made escape from the valley impossible. As tensions and paranoia heightened, people started dying. Only a few escaped death during that long winter.Jebediah, who had mostly kept himself hidden during those months, believed that he was the only person in the valley not to have acquired a new gift, until he left, long before the snow thawed but desperate to get away. He nearly died, and would have had he not come upon a half-eaten deer in the wilderness. Starving and unable to find dry wood, Jebediah ate the deer raw, including its brain. His mind was suddenly filled with strange visions, like memories that weren’t his. He realized that his power was the acquisition of knowledge through consumption of brain matter. When he emerged from the woods, he gradually started murdering and eating the brains of several people. Each time he did, he was immediately endowed with the knowledge of everything his victims knew. He also discovered, surprisingly at first, that if he ate the brain of a superhuman, he would gain his or her power. Because of this, the man now called Mr. Coffin has racked up quite a few abilities, including extreme longevity, which is why he still walks the Earth today, hungry for more knowledge and more power.

Derrick whimpered involuntarily as his sneaker hit a puddle of dirty water in the shadows of the alleyway. The…thing…was gaining. He breathed heavily through his nose and reached inside himself for more speed. A shadow swooped along the brick wall to his right and disappeared. God, it was close. He turned a corner, his lungs burning, dying for a rest. But the thing had marked him, and it would not stop until it had him.Dead end.
He stopped short as he faced another brick wall ahead of him. Nowhere left to run but back the way he had come. He spun around and there, standing a good five heads taller than him, was the thing. It was a cross between and man and dragon, with thick green scaly skin and huge leathery wings. Its face told a story of worlds Derrick wished not to know about, and in one of its clawed hands was a nasty-looking knife. In the other was a long axe-like weapon.
The better to gut me with, Derrick thought in a moment of insanity, as the beast took its first steps toward him. Around its neck was a string of what looked to be the teeth of various species of animal.
Suddenly a voice sounded in Derrick’s ears. No. In his head. The creature was speaking to him with its mind.
“It is an honor that has befallen you, human. You have been chosen to represent your kind in my trophy room. It is you who shall achieve immortality in the museum of the Collector. As thousands before you on thousands of other worlds, yours shall be the specimen my people will study and observe. Run no further, fight no longer. Your struggle is in vain.”
Derrick squeezed his eyes shut as the beast raised its knife. He was the collected.

Like her, all of the other guards were named after various breeds of dog. Collie, though, was unique in that she was the first line of defense against any intruders. She was a master swordswoman and fiercely loyal to the organization. She was one of the few members of the MACHINE to be spared by Rage’s wrathful destruction of the facility. Anton was a famous actor, usually portraying a giant or ultra strong hero in Russian films in the 60’s. When the USSR and America were at the height of the Cold War, demented Soviet government scientist Dankevitch Karensky began experiments to create superhuman soldiers. Anton, thanks to an already impressive build, was asked to volunteer for the experiments, and when it was done he emerged as Comrade Kremlin, super friend to all Russians. But it soon became clear that Karensky’s main motivation was the unification of all Soviet people under one belief, a morale booster to help bolster Communist power. The Comrade appeared on countless propaganda television shows and war films, and in America he became known as the Super Soviet. Though Comrade Kremlin did as he was told, Anton really had no knowledge of or interest in politics or war. Eventually he came to realize that the common people of his country were suffering under the weight of the government, and he denounced his home nation, defecting to the U.S. After a rocky start amid rising anti-communist paranoia, Anton was finally accepted into American society, and even changed his superhero name to Kladenets, after a magical sword from old Russian folklore.Picture:
