Poll Position: Most Anticipated Movies Of 2017

So, as this is most likely going to be the last poll for this year thanks to the very busy period between Christmas and New Year, I thought I would probably be best to take a look forward into next year, at what looks to be shaping up to be a very good year for “geek” cinema. We’ll see the MCU steam ahead towards the Infinity War, find out if the DCEU can actually swim rather than simple tread water and we get a new Star Wars. But which are you most looking forward to?

As per usual, I’ve given you 10 options to start with and you can add your own, provided they are movies that currently have a 2017 release date scheduled.

What Were They Thinking: In Memorium- Scott Summers

Ladies and Gentlemen, usually on What Were They Thinking, we look at the stupidest, most ill-advised things that have ever taken place in the history of the comic book industry. But today, we are gathered here for a funeral. We are here to mourn the loss of Scott Summers, also known as the hero Cyclops, long serving leader of the X-Men, who has been so cruelly taken from us. I mean, he’s not dead, well as far as I’m aware, but he might as well be. There is such a thing as “character assassination”, which is the malicious and unjustified harming of a persons good reputation, and of all characters in comics history, no-one has been through a more rigorous and thorough one than Scott Summers. And the culprit? That’d be Marvel.

So, how did they do it, and what was their motive. Well in the great tradition of murder mysteries, I’m going to gather all the suspects in a room and explain to you whodunit.

12 Days of Anime Ideas

Hey Folks, I plan on doing 12 days of Anime again this year, but I don’t plan on doing it the traditional way which is to pic one moment from anime that your watched this year and write about it, one for each of the 12 days as the format did not seem all that popular last year. Instead I plan on just doing 12 daily anime related posts between december 13th and December 24th. I will limit reviews to anime from this year, but I would like some idea both of what anime you’d like me to review and addition topics you’d like to discuss. So leave your suggestion in the comments below.

Top 10 Things Marvel Would Like You To Forget About The X-Men

The X-Men have been going for 53 years at this point. During the over half a century in existence, they grew from a 5 mutant team led by a bald guy in a wheelchair to a huge multinational force containing some of the most recognisable and most iconic characters in the history of comics. Their 1991 main book renumbering X-Men #1 became the best selling individual issue of all time, selling well over 8.1 million copies, and the team have been involved in some of Marvels greatest ever storylines (The Dark Phoenix Saga and Days Of Future Past to name a few). But for all their high points, there’s a lot of things about Marvels marvellous mansion of immutable mutants that they’d like you to forget.

Open Nomination: HMHOF!

Well Jr’s Hero Of The Year Post today reminded me that it is also time for our annual HeroMachine Hall Of Fame nominations! So here is what I want you to do. In the comments below I would like you to nominate a pieces of Heromachine, and HEROMACHINE ONLY artwork from any creator anywhere on the internet so long as 1) The individual has not been banned from this site, 2) The Heromachine artist knows about the nomination and does not object to his/her artwork being used here. & 3) as noted above the artwork is created 100% inside heromachine with no editing other then basic cropping.

I would prefer you nominate other peoples artwork but you are not forbidden from nominating yourself if you are so inclined. Also there are no limitation on the number of nomination you can make but I do ask you try and keep them to a minimum so I don’t need to create a 100 entry poll!

Character Of The Year 2016: Preliminary Round

Continuing our yearly tradition, as it is nearing the end of the year we’ve collected together all of the winners of this years CDC’s (except for the current ones that have no winner at time of posting) and ask you guys to decide which one should be crowned Character Of The Year. In this preliminary round we have 12 pictures randomly placed into each of our 4 polls using a randomizer (well, except Poll 4 which has only 10 because reasons). You can vote for up to 5 of your favourites in each poll once a day until 12 am on the Saturday 17th. After that, the 4 pictures with the highest votes in each poll and the highest voted 2nd place picture will go into a final poll to decide our Character Of The Year, which will be announced on Christmas Eve and inducted into the Hall Of Fame.

Anyway, the polls are below the jump.
