The ice controlling hero, Absolute Zero.
Second in charge of The Watchguard’s Beta squad.
Absolute Zero temporarily took command of Beta squad after Aerial, the group’s commander, was assumed dead. He suffered from some pretty severe self doubt in this role and it almost sent him off the deep end but fortunately the rest of the team and the Watchguard as a whole rallied behind him in support.
While he grew into a competent leader, when it was revealed that Aerial’s “death” had actually been faked to send her on a deep cover mission, Absolute Zero happily stepped aside and allowed her to retake her role as Beta squad’s leader.
Today, Absolute Zero is a much more confident and self assured individual and Aerial is glad to have him by her side to face whatever threats come the Watchguard’s way.

Neat! Really stylized and original.
I’d like to see more of your older ones if you’ve got them.
Pick a subject and ask a question; we’ll try to get back quickly.
Welcome ev1. I just realized I don’t think I ever introduced myself either. Been around since 2012. P.U.P. once but never got a character to the dash. I test out material for a blogger named Hairy and do his digital art, experiment with most other legal, ethical, and harmless media, occasionally consult between artists requiring others’ expertise or the impossible done by myself. Lots of ‘ghost’ contracts for absolute secrecy, suable if broken. . . so if I talk in vagaries about past experience, the reasons are legal issues.
I now hate contracts, since I am still so bound and have never gotten rich from them or even had one single project I own part of start paying me royalties. I also hate swans and peanut butter, because of money issues. I made too many ice sculptures of one right after college for weddings and ate too much of the other during college. I’ll let you all guess which was which.
Glad to hear it was only close for you. Well wishes for you and yours and your community.
My family had a close call like it once. A freak flood hit our area once when I was 16. Our home became an island, with the first floor carpet about a foot higher than the floodwater’s crest.
Thanx for jumping on this, Christi S. I, as well as some of the others, haven’t been as available to help others recently.
The Wolf: Charles Canis (the only character who I came up with an alter ego for) was a soldier in World War II, stationed in Europe. On the way back to the U.S., his boat crashed onto an island, leaving Canis as the lone survivor. This island was, believe it or not, essentially a temperate forest. The island also had a ton of wolves. The first thing Canis did after taking a drink from a stream that ran off of the island was to build a shelter in the treetops to stay away from the wolves. Little known to him, the river granted its drinker immortality (though the effects are only on humans. He managed to avoid being bitten by the wolves for many decades. One day, his signal fire finally attracted attention from a boat bringing goods to Boston. Just as Canis was about to board, a wolf bit him. Unbeknownst to Canis, the wolves of the island had a bite which gave the person bit mostly controlled lycantrophy. However, when first bit, one does turn into a werewolf after a period of time. For Canis, the end of this period just happened to be shortly after the ship pulled into the harbor. The captain had actually been sent by the Swordsman, who knew about the island, and had heard that passing ships had seen smoke for decades, but none had come. The Swordsman spread rumors to keep anyone but his ships from going to the island. He told the “captain” to bring in Canis, hoping to, train him in controlling his lycantrophy if he had been bitten, and in using his immortality to do some good if not. So when Canis transformed, the “captain” shot him with a tranquilizer and summoned a portal to transport both himself and Canis to the Swordsman’s camp. The Wolf can control not just when he transforms, but how much he transforms (the transformed version attached is well over halfway along in the process, and is the form usually brought on in the first transformation, and a slightly less transformed form than the one brought on by sudden bursts of rage. Canis usually transforms just to the point of fangs and claws. A full transformation is a barely anthropomorphic wolf (unless the user of the power stays in full form for too long, in which case the user becomes a full on wolf forever.))

This was the first lady knight I ever made, and she was goofy as hell. The goofier and simpler the design, the more elaborate I made the background.
Anyway, goes to show how a design can be saved with some fancy color and shading work.
For reference, here is the original from way back in 2014.

I do not have a new version of Rubber yet, so here is his god-awful original form (one of my earliest creations. He was born with natural rubber properties, including elasticity, bouncing, and insulation against electricity Also a member of the All-Stars. I didn’t get all that in to creating this character, admittedly. I might not even make him a member in this universe’s incarnation of the team.
