Welp, “File is Empty” error when uploading. Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks! I’ll post the image when I figure this out
Thanks for the warm welcomes!
My first character is – I guess the flagship character in my universe (at least one of).
Along with the image, I’ve attached the “In-Universe” NSAA Superhuman Analysis Report, which is just a fancy way of displaying their backstory and other information about the character for those that are interested.
I guess a disclaimer if it wasn’t already obvious, the NSAA file isn’t made entirely in HeroMachine rather in photoshop. If this is something that is frowned upon I am happy to remove the image, just thought it handy to have the character bio attached rather than clog up the thread.
I’d forgotten about ‘Mae’ for years. A man came to me and explained that if his pregnant wife was ‘good and rested up’ that the doctor said she could go trick or treating with their niece. They’d lost their home in a fire, and her estranged mother, dead a few months, had willed them her home.
. . . So I came in and visited two to three hours at a time as I could, giving them direction. The old lady was a chemo survivor, so her wig and her makeup went right on the papier mache headpiece, which was balanced and supported by a padded backpack. ‘Executioner-mask mesh’ made a great mask mouth and look-through. Mae’s own hair in a loose topknot for add’l padding and a few locks out through the mesh mouth. The good news is that though she went into premature labor the kid was born fine. The bad news is that the unused headpiece was destroyed when the kid flooded the garage as he started crawling. More good news? We found out as they cleaned up that it’s a good thing we didn’t go. The next door neighbors had a son go missing the Halloween before wearing an identical costume to the one we cut up for the arm and leg. More bad news? We bought it at Goodwill, and the police had no way of tracing what we gave them. Luckily our alibis checked out.
I recently had a little play around and came up with this creation. I call him Minotaur.
Mindmaster- Harry Barrett

Powers: Genius Level Intellect, Advanced Technical Capability, Hypno-Helmet
The younger brother of The Owl, a superhero currently working for W.I.L.D’s Strike Force initiative, Harry Barrett was always much more introverted than his brother. Though much smarter than his older sibling, Harry always found it much harder to relate to other people. This isolation fed into two defining features of his character, a supreme jealousy of his much more popular brother and a need to prove himself superior to everyone else. So when his brother used his intellect to become a superhero, Harry tried as well. But he failed and had to be bailed out by his brother. So instead, Harry decided to become a super villain and try to beat his brother that was. But he failed at that too. Eventually, his antics caught the attention of other superheroes, most notably Red Kite, who unknowingly ruined an elaborate scheme of Harrys to finally destroy his brother once and for all. Since then, Harry has become obsessed with defeating Red Kite as well, but she also keeps beating him, further adding to his obsession. Whilst his intelligence can be in no doubt, afterall he created all his own gadgets, including his Hypno-Helmet (a helmet that can control other peoples minds), Harrys main problem seems to be his own nature, his love of being overdramatic and over-elaborate, as well as his over confidence.
Also, he loves coming up with his own taglines, such as “The Malevolent Menace Of The Mindmaster”. He says these often. It annoys everyone.
The pyromaniac Firebug first appeared several months ago, setting a series of blazes in abandoned warehouses. Unlike many other masked fire starters like Prometheus or Miss Fyre, Firebug seemingly has no intention of actually hurting anyone and seems to only be interested in watching things burn. Occasionally though, the fires he starts spread further than he intended and innocent bystanders do end up in danger. Several heroes have attempted to apprehend Firebug but he always seems to escape, thanks in no small part to his advanced tech.
That advanced tech has attracted the attention of the hero Static who sees a lot of similarities to his own tech and he has begun an investigation into Firebugs identity. Static doesn’t yet realize it but the fire started closer to home than he knows. Firebug is someone Static has helped train in the past. Firebug is the rookie hero Stinger!
Stinger is the protege of Vespa but Static has been instrumental in his training as well and provided much of his equipment which may explain why Firebug’s gear looks so familiar.
Vespa remains completely unaware of her sidekick’s other life but should she ever find out, she’s going to have to make a difficult decision about how to handle the matter. Does she hand him over to he authorities and hoe he gets the treatment he needs or does she protect him and hope she can change his behaviour before he hurts someone?
I really like your work! Every design is great, and your colors in particular are chosen and distributed beautifully! Also, I find it kind of ironic that your first post in this forum mentioned that you suck at posing. Even if that was the case then, it certainly isn’t now. Frankly, you have far more patience then I ever will.
Thanks. 🙂
I like to think I’ve gotten at least slightly better at posing but the poses I do use aren’t the most dynamic. You don’t need to change a lot to make a character look better though. Arm arm or leg moved just a little can make a lot of difference.
