Herr DParticipantSorry for the delay. Had to get the file of the following sent to friend B’s computer from friend A.First, by Miyagi, ‘let’s look eye.’ Thatâs a one for findable with or without prompting / questioning. Thatâs at least a two for âabuse,â or leaving category in an emphatic manner. Thatâs a three for incorporating / manipulating in a way that makes it less obvious but still present and belonging to the pic. Randallâs was not a ‘real’ eye, but representing one, so not emphatic. Keric’s eyefruit went very well with the veganfae. Category to Keric. When it came to the âboarheads and tongues,â I was a little confused at first, then realized this scoring would have to have some half-points. Randall’s tongue as a road was a great notion that didn’t work very well, so it came out as a bare two. His boarheads were . . . heads. That WOULD’VE been just a one, but his incorporation of so many in foreground AND background and making them belong so well made it deserve a two.  Keric’s head-as-logo on the waitstaff (I think the bizarre bar might’ve been named the Red Boar?) wouldn’t have brought more than a one, but it was a theme, carried on by the stein or decorative vase. BTW, I like stein better, but I wasn’t sure.  They were only fake heads, but the theme belonged in the picture for consistency. So it earned a three. The theme continuing with the decorative plant – tongue or little drink-umbrella – tongue would’ve got a three even with the ambiguity except for the additional ambiguity. The yellow one in mid-air? Was that a lock of the swordswoman’s hair? Maybe an oversight? Just a two and a half.<span id=”yiv1385749546yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1472722283284_3696″ style=”line-height: 20.4px;”>The emotional content was about the same for how much I wanted to be in the bar and not be in front of the army. Keric suffered a bit for what looked like scaling and placement issues. The items contributed to the overall story of the picture in both entries, but Keric’s ‘extra’ tongue  bothered me a lot.  Randall’s only tongue just bothered me more.</span><span id=”yiv1385749546yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1472722283284_3851″ style=”line-height: 20.4px;”> </span>Bells here means presence by virtue of item or holistic effect contributed. Keric found some great companion uses and one alteration. Randall found a layer of purple shadows can appear to double your favorite enemy.<span id=”yiv1385749546yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1472722283284_3901″ style=”line-height: 20.4px;”>Whistles is about minor pieces or features like placement, shading, highlighting, etc. </span><span id=”yiv1385749546yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1472722283284_3902″ style=”line-height: 20.4px;”>Keric, I can see why you didn’t shade or highlight.</span><span id=”yiv1385749546yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1472722283284_3903″ style=”line-height: 20.4px;”> Randall, varying your army’s armor and weaponry won you this category, despite you not making the weapon’s face or Victor’s armorskulls more boarlike. Maybe the tongue could’ve been used as horns or ears on those?</span>Finally there are background and backstory. Randall did an obvious lot more work on the background. But as it happened, Keric’s prefab was almost all he needed. Randall’s backstory was good, and Keric’s didn’t exist. This one looks pretty close so far . . .…………..K……….RB/S……..0………..3Bkgd….3…………3.5iHead…3…………2iEye……3.5………1iTongue..2.5…….2Bells…….3…………3Whistles..2………..2.5i-Story……2.5…….2Emot-i…..3………..3Total ….22.5……22. . . And that was closer than I thought! Keric wins by half a point! Both were good entries; they scored low because I went to half points for closer determination. As it happens, I like BOTH of these better than the last time you competed with me judging. Tips? Randall, you probably could’ve made the road-tongue into just scuffmarks in the dirt. The ‘boaring’ of the weaponface or his armorskulls would be great additions if you revise this piece, maybe another layer of darker purple for a third wave of boarmen or boar archers half-hidden behind some trees? Keric, shading or highlighting would be a lot of work, but would obviously help, but you’d be better off making a tray stick out slightly from behind the waiter with some more steins on it. Move that swordswoman away from poking the wallflower. Harp-and-bullhorn karaoke? Fae dancing in a cage? Mermaid fishtank? Special sign? Kali bartender? Loads of ways to go, man.Pick 3.
Herr DParticipant“Melted Large Calibers Still Hurt A Little” points out that sometimes powers might not be the end-all-be-all people seem to imagine. The fire elemental has survived without a bona fide bullet wound, but may have killed the gunman, certainly wounded him badly. The fire elemental has a single fractured rib from the glob of molten metal still traveling at bullet speed.

Herr DParticipantYikes. Thank you, T! My imagination does tend to be the elephant in the room. If only my skills could catch up to it, or better yet, my speed of execution!

Hairy told me this ‘story’ about where he’s been while I’ve been ‘monitoring’ Shelob for him.
“So, I lost my ride. Had to take care of it. Then I met this old-timer. He gave me a lift. We went a little out of our way. We had to avoid this storm, and he had some, uh, dietary issues. Then I found out he was homeless, had a disability, and, worse, the staff of the park he was living near had led him to believe they’d keep giving him food and stopped suddenly. He doesn’t even know why. Dazed and confused, he didn’t even know the way back! I had to find him a situation and leave him. Felt bad about it, but I can’t take him in. The cold in my area would kill him, even if I could support him. I took him back south a ways, so at least the coming winter won’t bother him so much. Anyway, sorry I’ve been out of touch for so long.”

I’m out of time, and this subject DOES deserve more–so I just missed doing Mother Theresa! This is another good candidate though.
First published feminist poet in the Americas? Yeah. Nun? Huh. Some symbolism here: femme symbol combined from peace and cross, then balancing cross / scales. Scrolls and quills from Polyhymnia, muse of sacred poetry. What I read says the black dye is expensive to make, besides time-consuming. Wimple was a must, though. Her work is the first reference I’ve seen for “don’t blame the victim” besides possibly Shakespeare. Nice stuff.

Herr DParticipantSchool. Why do they call it ‘herding’ on land, anyway? The schools of fish don’t learn ANYTHING, the people on land herd NOTHING, like they don’t listen at ALL–don’t be too fishlike or human.
And come back and make us more stuff.
Herr DParticipant. . . I can understand his plight. An ex of mine wanted to dress me as her Ken doll, and that felt weird without gender / identification / social stigma /sibling boundary issues. Well portrayed.
Selfies are common enough I can tell you that looking at them on the net, you want an odd, round-cornered, fade-away triangle for the foreshortened arm. Difficult.
Herr DParticipantYou guys’ idea-flows are patterned? Wow. I get shreds of ideas visual and story and oriented in every medium I’ve ever heard of. What’s hard for me is finding the time to get any idea about anything to a stage of completion before most of it (and some of its best parts) is forgotten.
Herr DParticipantDon’t know how I missed Andre before. He wasn’t a bouncer at my bachelor party, was he? He actually does look familiar!
Herr DParticipant1. Figured it out. If I left-click on the image it’ll let me ‘view image’ like it does in photobucket.
2. Vitas: What did his head need, besides maybe a nose-shadow? Nice costume on him, looks luminous and full of life like his name suggests.
3. Your summoned hound: is that a thing he can snip with or are those armored ears?

Herr DParticipantI can’t seem to get your images any bigger. What I can see of them look great.
Your question for Melmo’s answer: The last two are blog contest entries.
Herr DParticipantActually, you could probably fix that with two  small capes from Bkpl the color of the coat. Just tuck ’em in to hide the skirt and ‘become’ part of the coat. The straight-up-and-down ones.
Edit: Bkpl / std, last item on top row, y at about 27%, x at about 65%, tuck it between skirt and coat layer on each side — that’ll approximately do it.
Herr DParticipantHave you made an Oriole? Nice work so far.
Herr DParticipantCan you show them fighting? That horned sword looks interesting.
Herr DParticipantLove Belladonna [looks up at screen as littlest squidling plays part of Batman & Robin “Why are all the pretty ones homicidal maniacs?”]
Herr DParticipantI ran into this problem . . . invulnerable characters with no garments from the same source . . . AFTER tweaking the backstory so daddy dearest wasn’t a murderer or a Mengele.

I wonder how many people DON’T know the toe rhyme?
*I have been notified that at least one Latin American language has a popular translation.
