Anime Talk: Digimon Adventure tri.

Hi guys, JR here. Yes, I know this is usually Kaldath's post. But bear with me. I have temporarily taken over the Anime Talk this week, because it fits better than doing a JReviews.

And with that out of the way, let me just lay a few things out for you. Hello, my name is JR, you guys should all know me, and I am a MASSIVE (read MASSIVE) Digimon fan. Seriously, you think I'm bad with Doctor Who, you ain't seen nothing yet.

With that out of the way, let's begin.

Anime Talk: Terminology

In this addition of Anime Talk I want to go over some terms used in regard to Anime/Manga and its community that you may or may not be familiar with. In the future my reviews may be incorporating some of these terms and I wanted a point of reference for you all to be able to look at in you don't know the term already.

Anime Talk: Invitation

Let me start off that I plan on writing a couple anime talks over the next couple weeks, as I have been on a bit of an anime binge of late, that being said I would like to invite you the anime fans of our community to write for heromachine also. If there is any anime topic that I have not covered that you wish to talk about please send me email at Kaldath@HeroMachine.com. We can discuss what you want to talk about and if I find it reasonable you can either write up an article about the topic which I will then post for you, or If you don't feel like writing it I myself may ( or may not ) take a crack at the topic.

I ask this of you all in hopes of providing more content for the HeroMachine community at large. I would like to write more articles but can not always think of something to write about, and even when I ask for suggestion I do not always feel qualified to write about the things being suggested to me, so that is why I thought of asking for some guess writers from the community. SO anyone that feels like stepping up please feel free to contact me.

Kaldath’s Caption Contest #69

It is time for our bi-weekly caption contest and this week I want to try something a little different. Instead of a static picture this week I have an animated Gif from the Anime series Gatchaman Crowds that I want you to caption for me. This can either be a caption about what is happening in the Gif, or it can be what you think is being said. Or anything else you think is appropriate to the image below:

The normal rules apply, which are: You are limited to Three (3) entries which are due by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday July 21st. Of course I as always expect you to keep your entries no worse than PG-13 in nature and that you follow all the normal rules of the forum when writing your caption for the above image. That being said I wish you all Good luck!

Anime Talk: White-Washing?

This week on Anime Talk I want to discuss a topic I briefly touched upon in the comments of a previous Anime Talk talking about the live action Ghost in the Shell Movie that Dreamworks is putting together. That topic would be the White-Washing of Asian character in the Hollywood adaptations of the works in which the characters have originally appeared.  For those not familiar with the term, white-washing is the practice of casting the white actor or actress for a role of a character that is of a different race in the source material in this case Asians.

Anime Talk: Vocaloids!

On this edition of "Anime Talk" I want to discuss the phenomenon known as Vocaloids. Now I first learn of this 4 or 5 years ago, however browsing youtube today I stumbled across a couple videos by the Fine Brothers ( Elders React to Vocaloids and Kids react to Hatsune Miku ) that brought them back to my attention ( I will link to those videos at the end of this article). For those of you who do not know what a Vocaloid is, they are computer generate synthesized singers and apparently a number of Japans top Idols are Vocaloids!
