Alright! It’s time for another Open Critique Day!

As for how this goes, you post a work of yours, finished or WIP (aka work in process, for those who are new to abbreviations), and then others give you critiques on your work.  I do not mind if you post the occasional non-HM picture or piece of writing, but keep in mind that, though there are some, not all of us here are writers or do art outside of HeroMachine. All I ask is that you only post pictures that are your own design and not any that copyrighted or based off of copyrighted characters. As for pieces of writing, I’m not sure about whether fan fiction is allowed, but for right now, just in case, don’t post fan fiction either.

Also, again, if you post a work, it is highly recommended that you also give someone else a critique.

Geek Quiz ♯1

So, I’m gonna try something different this week. I can’t think of any decent questions for the Big Question, so instead I’m going to bring one of my old forum topics over to replace it (ironic really, as the Big Question started out as a forum topic as well).

The idea is simple, there’s ten questions on a variety of “geeky” subjects, ranging from Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Comics, Movies, TV, Anime and Games. The person with the most correct answers wins, probably a no-prize, in true Marvel style. If you guys like this idea then I will try to keep it going as the Thursday blog post (it’s something different). Anyway, without further ado, lets jump in.

Open Nominations For HeroMachine Hall of Fame

Greetings fellow Machiners! This post is being made to enlist your aid. You see we here at Heromachine have decided we need some additional members of our Hall of Fame. Now here is how this is going to work, JR, myself, Linea, and dblade are each going to select One image made by a member of our community to be entered into the hall of fame, but we want to bring the total number of entries up to 10. JR will be holding a Character of the year poll which will bring the number up to five. This is where you all come into play. I am asking you all to nominate a piece of artwork (HeroMachine creations only) for the hall of fame, preferably not one of your own pieces, though doing so will be allowed if you really feel the need to. Nominations will be open starting today December 2nd 2014 and last until December 22nd 2014  9 am Eastern Time.

 

Once the nomination process is closed I will take all  your nomination and place them in a giant poll which will Run from December 23rd until December 30th. On December 31st the 5 nominations with the most votes will be honored with a place in the HeroMachine Hall Of Fame!

 

Please post your nomination for the Hall Of Fame in the comments below by providing a link to the artwork in question. We will accept nominations posted here on our forms, posted to the Heromachine facebook page, or from Deviantart, all I ask is that you inform the owner of the piece that you have nominated them  here so that if they wish they can request to be removed from the poll in the event they do not following the happenings of the Blog.

As I say in the video, I will probably be going back to the costume and having a mess around with it, because I’m not entirely happy with it and the video would be an hour long if I recorded until I was happy with it. If I have any interesting ideas that I think could make good content for a video, I’ll include them at the start of next weeks video. Also, remember to say which you’d like me to do a tutorial of next week, anime style face and hair or normal face and hair.

Character Design Contest ♯101- Do You Want To Build A Snowman?

Sorry, had to.

Anyway, this weeks contest is veeeeeery simple. I want you to build a snowman… and that’s it. Just make a creative snowman. I said it was simple right. And just incase it isn’t snowing outside just yet, you are allowed to use Heromachine 😉

As per usual, no limits on entries this week and the contest will close at midnight Saturday (blog time). The winner gets to claim a custom made item from dblade to be put into heromachine, so long as the item conforms to his prize rules, which you can find here: https://www.heromachine.com/forum/the-heromachine-art-gallery/dblades-whiz-bang-item-dispenser/. Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. Only post pictures and images that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before.
