Character Design Contest ♯120 (Film Posters) Winner

Wow, we actually had a close poll for 2 weeks in a row. Well, when I say close poll I mean it was close between the top 2. No-one else was in sight, which is weird because I don't think that there was a noticeable quality difference to warrant an almost 50 vote gap between 2nd and 3rd places. But anyways. it ended up being one of those contests where the top 2 exchanged places throughout the week and it could have ended with either coming out on top. But as it turns out, the person to come out of top was in fact Hawk007 for his Athanasia film poster, claiming what I believe to be his first CDC victory. Congrats Hawk and well done to everyone who entered, especially our finalists, sorry that most of you got trampled in the poll.

Character Of The Week: Nug- Frog King

Now sometimes there's a picture that comes along that is just frogking brilliant, I mean like toadally awesome. Something just so ribbiting that I feel I may well croak. And this is one of those times (plus, in case anyone hadn't noticed, it gives me an opportunity to pun so hard I just couldn't let it pass). It's just so off the wall. I will include an earlier version as well in this post, because I feel the face is better, but the costume is certainly not something I would change. If I had to say on how to improve this though, I would say the legs could be a tad bulkier, but not by much and that's only a very minor niggle. Anyway, nice one Nug, have a COTW. (Anyone notice the point when I ran out of frog puns?)

And best face of the year award goes to-

He looks so pleased with himself, like he just farted and nobody noticed.

...

Anyway.

Gallery Grabs- Iscarioto

So, last week I asked everyone who I should cover this week on Gallery Grabs and there were some great suggestions, so naturally I've ignored them all (for the time being anyway), because one of my favourite creators just decided to show up again after being M.I.A for around a year. So you really think I'm gonna pass up this opportunity to revisit his gallery?

Warning, I go all odd half way through this. Sorry.

Character Design Contest ♯121- Fight Club

Fun one for y'all this week. What I want you guys to do is come up with the best fight scene you possibly can in Heromachine. Now, obviously you have to have two characters at least in your pics, but don't think you have to be limited to just that, you can do more if you so wish. And I'm not just talking about fist fights here, you can do sword fights, gun-slinger duels or a full out fantasy battle, if it takes your fancy.

As per usual, no limits on entries and the contest will close at midnight Saturday (blog time). Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings. Only post characters that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

Character Design Contest ♯119 (Comic Book Covers) Winner

You want to know something insane. This weeks winner hasn't won a CDC since the first contest of last year! I was sure he'd won one more recently than that. Or maybe I'm just getting muddled because of some of he COTW's from last year? Either way, this weeks winner is RobM for his Minute Smasher cover. Congrats Rob and well done to everyone else who entered.

Character Of The Week: DiCicatriz- Worldbreaker

STOP PRESS!!! We have a COTW that doesn't feature either Jeimuzu or Ubiquitous Pixel for once! Shock Horror!

Anyway, being sensible (which is unusual in of its self), the decision as to whom to feature this week came down to a choice between three different pictures from three classic creators. However, I'm not doing a three way COTW because I did eventually decide to go with DiCicatriz and his Worldbreaker. I'm not really sure why, but this one just stood out to me the most when I was trying to decide, so I went with it.

No Gallery Grabs This Week

Sorry guys, I was too busy to do it yesterday and by the time I'd finished everything I was too tired to do the post. Can't do it at the moment because I'm at work and the work guest WiFi is terrible and lags out if you have more than one tab open at a time so that rules out writing the post, looking at a gallery and inserting pictures into the post (and I can't use employee internet connection because this isn't work related). So yeah, it'll be back next week hopefully if this things aren't as hectic.

In the mean time, why don't you guys use the comments below to leave suggestions on which galleries we should be visiting in the future.

JR out.
