HM3: Don’t get mouthy. Oh, fine, go ahead.

I just uploaded the following new items to the Mouth-Standard set in HM3 (clear your browser cache if you don't see them):

I wanted to make sure I got a good "clenched teeth" one, so I put in three. As well as most of the suggestions in the last thread, so thank you for those.

could we have a very straight lined kindof serious quiet mouth?
    please respong thx

  2. Jeff Hebert says:

Having not sponged before, I don’t know if I can REspong, but I’ll try.

I think there are several fairly straight mouths already that should serve. If you want a literal straight line, you can use an Insignia like the square, squished all the way down and filled with black.

    Great stuff!

  4. The Frank says:

    ok. thank you for responding.

sorry for my spelling error i was having an interesting convo on facebook and was slightly angry.

i really enjoy your program and thx thats a good idea

what other parts are in the works?

  5. CPrime says:

Jeff, you’ve been busy today, my friend. Thanks a lot for all your work.

  6. Jeff Hebert says:

No worries, I was just ribbing you. I thought respong was a funny word/typo.

Anyway, all I’m doing at this point is 1) finishing up contest prize requests, then 2) converting more of the male-only items to female. After that, no more item generation for a while as I rewrite the code from the ground up so I can FINALLY go from alpha to beta testing.

  7. Jeff Hebert says:

Thanks CPrime! Hope you’re liking the new stuff.

  8. Jake says:

Thanks Jeff! I’m pretty happy some of my suggestions made it in. I was kind of hoping you’d have a request for new eyes as well, but no such luck. Oh well.

  9. NEON_N64 says:

Nice! I actually missed those from HM2.

  10. Nick Hentschel says:

Welcome additions, all. I can actually think of where I can use some of these, right now.

  11. scorpidius says:

Hey Jeff, you are cooking with gas now!!

    some great updates here!!!

with tha angry eyes, angry mouth, face wrinkles, all my grumpy wizard is missing now is a big shaggy beard!! wink wink, nudge nudge.

Seriously though, great updates, and I can’t wait to see this move into the Beta stage.

  12. Fabien says:

The only lack is a mouth with a snake like tongue.

  13. The Eric says:

I think tongues would be a good idea. (forked and unforked)

  14. Hammerknight says:

@scorpidius I’m posting a sample of the big shaggy beard on my thread.

  15. Fendaan says:

Very excited about the single fang. I’ve got a bunch of orc characters that are waiting for small tusks. And the potential vampire characters are cool too. Plus the jagged teeth will be perfect for some goblins I’m working on. Thanks Jeff! Great workvas always.

  16. Nick Hentschel says:

I just updated one character with the “fang” item, and used the “smirk” to create another. Thanks!

ANd here’s a way to get even more out of them in the Beta version: remember the way it was altered for the Hand? The way that an item masked to it, seems to be held in it, rather than the usual effect? Maybe a similar “exception” to the function’s mechanics might work for the Mouth: maybe the program could alter the Mask function for the Mouth component, so that funky teeth can appear to be poking out from under the lips somehow, instead of placed on top of them.

Just an idea, for WELL down the road….

  17. Jake says:

@Nick Hentschel: If you do it right, the teeth already look like they are poking out of the mouth. Just have to move it around. I’m working on an orc now that looks great (so to speak).

  18. Tim says:

Hmm those are some perty mouths right there lolz

Great job Jeff! I also love those angry eyes you posted!

  19. Nick Hentschel says:

I’ve roughly managed to do it myself, by adjusting size and placement. Not bad results, really. But part of me still thinks I should do better.

  20. Lime says:

Yay! Thank you! I’ve been wanting the toothy grin, though I did manage an acceptable substitute involving turning the hammerhead shark head upside down and disguising the rest of it …
