Happy Halloween!

In honor of this silliest of American traditions, and with thanks to SpiderCow2010 for choosing it as his contest prize, I give you ... PunkinHead!

This nightmarish visage can be found haunting the pages of "Head-Zombies" in HeroMachine 3 even as we speak, in both a blank pumpkin and face-carved version. Enjoy!

    Awesome!!

    Thanks Jeff!! 🙂

But I think there is a problem, when you apply a pattern you can see it on the right eye and the nose, but not on the left eye or the mouth.

  4. Chisoph says:

Yeah, I had the same problem.

Same with masking anything to it, even if you make the eyes transparent.

  5. Re-size a Shaded Circle Background behind the Punkinhead. Then adjust Color 2 to 0 Alpha.

  6. I got that backwards…

Adjust Color 2 to 0 Alpha. Then re-size a Shaded Circle Background behind the Punkinhead.

Yeah, sometimes Flash is weird about how it applies masks to odd-shaped openings. I’ll see if I can clean up the edges and make the shapes more regular, sometimes that helps. The way they’re built, the eyes and nose are not supposed to have the pattern show there.

As AP said, the way I got the glowing effect in the eyes was to set color2 to 0% alpha, then placing the gradient Pattern (from Patterns-Standard) behind it, sized to fit.

Halloween isn’t a silly American tradition, it is far older than the US, as is the jack-o-lantern. The only thing of the jack-o-lantern that can be traced to America is it’s being a pumpkin. The original jack-o-lanterns were other vegetables, most noteably turnips.

    Hey Jeff,
i was using the ‘HandRight-female’ page, but at ‘HandLeft’, i didn’t found a ‘female’ page.

shouldn’t have something like that? the ‘HandLeft-Femal’ page?

A lot of things are right only, just hit the flip button to make them left.

knight1192 (8) My kids and I carved a watermelon and used it as a Jack-o-lantern once. Turned out pretty cool actually.

I don’t want to be annoying, but: what’s coming next?

  13. Jeff Hebert says:

Almost done with the female fantasy armor tops conversion.
