HM3: Next on the agenda

By a narrow margin, it looks like Blunts have beaten Firearms, so I'll be working on that next. Then I'll go immediately into Firearms, as I do think that's a glaring omission.

Feel free to post specific Blunt requests. Next week I'll do the same for Firearms but for now, please keep it to hand-held blunt-trauma weapons. Comments with links to an actual image of the requested item will get preferential treatment because, let's be honest, I'm lazy.

Edited To Add: Guys, as usual, all items (or close to it) from 2.5 will be included, so you can lay off those.

  1. Hammerknight says:

Hammers of course, all shapes and sizes. lol.

  2. silentbilbo says:

You can leave off the little figure on the head if you want.

  3. RJ mcd says:

i agree with hammerknight i would like the sledge from 2.5

  4. Dennis says:

I’d like a femur, like in HM2, if that goes under Blunts. And seeing as you wanted images, here you go LOL

Another good thing would be a Viking style axe, like this

  5. Hakoon1 says:

    I thought this looked cool:

    http://www.50statesclassifieds.com/uploadedimages/45031841.gif

Not sure if it’s in HM2.5 but it looks good.

  6. Michael says:

    How about this http://quityourdayjob.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/staff.jpg

Not sure if it counts as a blunt weapon or a firearm but it looks cool.

  7. Pyrate Hyena says:

lots of baseballbats (wood, metal, rusted metal, with nails through it… how about nails to add yourself? not profiled, a little bit twisted. or both twisted and profile (hope you know what i mean by profile and twisted, cause i dont think its correct english at all… if im right just do the rest)

  8. Luclucluc says:

We deffinately need a cricket bat. I just don’t think a blunt object section could be complete without one.

  9. Pyrate Hyena says:

a bunch of tools (screwdriver, handaxe, hammer, different saws, shovel), a hockey stick, a simple wood plank would be neat. oh and by the way i think im not the only one missing some machetes in the blades section

    seasons greetings
    Pyrate Hyena

  10. chase says:

    yes we need machetes

  12. Dan Gonzalez says:

Not sure what I’m doing wrong, but I’m only getting like 11 coats in the new section (and all the pieces and parts). Should there be more?

  13. Jeff Hebert says:

There are 14 distinct main coats, with the various sleeve options. You can throw in the extra variations on the trench coat if you like. Some of these are combinable with other items from other sets to get more variations of course.

In the 2.5 sets, you might have a bunch of different sports coats because you’d need one for each tie, one that you could leave open for a tie underneath (assuming there was an Undershirt available), etc. Because you can now mix and match multiple items from the same slots, you can build a lot of that yourself.

Some of the other stuff that was in 2.x that you might not see here will either be in Vests, or they were already in TopsMaleStandard and I didn’t see the need to duplicate them.

If there’s something specific missing you want Dan, say the word and I’ll see what I can do. Sorry if 14 is disappointing to you.

  14. Aidan says:

don’t forget a malet! those are rather popular.

  15. Aidan says:

please put in the riddler’s staff with the questionmark on-top

  16. Aidan says:

apologies for not having any images. i don’t know how to send them.

  17. Aidan says:

a thick stick with spikes all over

  18. david says:

    a guitar

  19. Aidan says:

a jack-o-lantern bomb thingy that green goblin uses… if they are blunts of course

  20. Aidan says:

i also noticed the missing machette

  21. Aidan says:

a batarang- a boomerang shaped like a bat- like out of
    bat-man

  22. Aidan says:

a rubber bat-shaped bomb- like the one used by riddler in “batman forever” to destroy the bat-cave

  23. Aidan says:

    a the silver-surfer’s board

  24. Aidan says:

a staff with a hamburger on the top

  25. Aidan says:

or maybe a staff with a hot dog on top

  26. Niall Mor says:

“Blunts have beaten firearms.” There’s a pun in there somewhere 🙂

  27. Jeff Hebert says:

@Niall: I’m glad someone noticed, I was proud of that one 🙂

  28. Danny Beaty says:

Will there be a Miscellaneous section in HM3, or will Miscellaneous items be in Blunts?

  29. Aidan says:

    do bombs count as blunts?

  30. Jeff Hebert says:

Definitely plan on a “Miscellaneous” set for HM3.

  31. Jeff Hebert says:

Bombs do not count as blunts, no. We’re talking melee weapons with impact as their primary damage type, in game terms. Bombs, not so much.

  32. Aidan says:

thank you. that info was very helpful (not being sarcastic)

  33. Aidan says:

i think you could add a ball that is covered in spikes.

  34. Aidan says:

    and maybe a microphone

  35. Aidan says:

i wasn’t here for a few weeks so could you possibly add
two-face’s clothes and burnt face? sorry for asking on such short notice.

  36. Aidan says:

if you can or can’t reply

  37. Dan says:

Just a couple things. A steel folding chair, (wrestling) and maybe like a street sign? Oh yeah, and a baseballbat wrapped in barbed wire. All those hardcore rasslin’ things, kendo stick, tire iron, and the like. Please?

  38. Jeff Hebert says:

Aidan, no plans on dedicated Two-Face clothes or a face. Sorry.

  39. Aidan says:

    oh well.

  40. Whit says:

Aidan–Jeff has to be careful of items that could end up in a copyright infringement suit.

  41. Anarchangel says:

    We need a crowbar 🙂

  42. Jeff Hebert says:

There’s a crowbar in 2.5, so there will be a crowbar in 3, yes.

  43. Anarchangel says:

Ah good. Haven’t used 2.5 in a long time so didn’t realize. Sorry for the redundant suggestion

  44. Aidan says:

a stick covered in barbed wire

  45. remy says:

well, you have a Thor hammer, so what about a Beta ray bill hammer?

    http://www.actionfigureexpress.com/maberaybistr.html

  46. Aidan says:

is there already a plane baseball bat?

  47. Aidan says:

i mean a plain baseball bat. apologies for the bad spelling.

  48. Aidan says:

i like darth neko’s mace things

  49. Aidan says:

i also really like micheal’s staff thing in no. 9

  50. remy says:

oh and also a blank sign like Rorschach’s in watchmen. People could use fonts to write anything they want. Sorry I couldn’t find a good pick of it but I assume you’ve read/seen watchmen

  51. Aidan says:

    you need an umbrilla.

  52. Aidan says:

    sorry i mean umbrella

  53. Kaldath says:

I’d just like to point out to all the people putting in requests for Axes. Jeff has asked that you stick to Blunt weapons suggestion in this thread and axes are most certainly NOT blunt they are bladed weapons, just saying.

  54. Aidan says:

my sister asked me to ask if there could possibly end up a carrot in it

  55. Aidan says:

what is the exact date these plans come into action?

  56. Matt says:

I guess it could also be under gloves, but how about a large set of gloves either made of tough leather or metal and maybe covered with metal studs/spikes.

    i guess sort of like
    http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/ProductImages/300/2006_River_Road_Vegas_Shorty_Gloves_Black.jpg

but larger and with bigger studs. the kind of gloves where one punch to the face would break…everything 😀

  57. Matt says:

it would look more like having a giant set of studded fists than form fitting gloves. and the studs would be for more damage as opposed to just looks like in the picture i linked. like a set of complete fists as opposed to brass knuckles

  58. LoneWolf6155 says:

I would like a tetsubo, some brass knuckles, and a biily club.

  59. remy says:

also, when will standard leftshoulder items become available?

  60. Jeff Hebert says:

Aidan, dude, seriously — try to consolidate these comments into one or two posts. You’re allowed multiple sentences in each one 🙂

Re: left shoulders, that’s bottom of the list priority given you can use Multiples and Flip Item. I’m concentrating on new stuff to fill in gaps where there are no, or very few, suitable options.

  61. Richard says:

Please a crucifix like http://s3.amazonaws.com/dfc_attachments/images/4816/IMG_1587a.jpg perhaps a plain one without the circle so you can add or not

  62. Jeff Hebert says:

@Richard: That’s not really a “blunt”, that would go in the “Misc” category when I get there. However, in the meantime you can make one that’s darn close by combining various Insignia.

  63. Danny Beaty says:

A sledge hammer ( not the Mjoinir hammer in HM2.5, but a construction workers sledge hammer).
One of those hammers that looks like a small sledge hammer (I don’t know what you call them).
I think HM2.5 pretty much covers all the blunt weapons.

  64. mechabolt says:

A monkey wrench , and maybe classic wrench.

  65. kryptkal says:

I’m just curious if you are planning on converting the rest of the boots from HM2.5 at some point because there are definetly some missing currently.

As fara s blunts go…all the hammer suggestions so far are good. I suggest various staffs and a billy club akin to Daredevil’s. I really like the nightsticks from HM2.5 too, and how one is extended away from the arm and the other is folded in.

  66. Brad says:

Well, Jeff, if you’re not already being assaulted enough with suggestions and links, I have a couple requests that would be fun. I personally would like to see some blunts from the orient, particularly melon hammers: http://www.wle.com/media/W322.jpg

As well as a Wolf Teeth’s Club, several pics to support the idea of what I personally would like to see: http://files.turbosquid.com/Preview/Content_2009_07_14__06_01_52/wolfclub.jpg2f70d864-402e-435e-a1f0-bd240ffb0451Large.jpg

    http://www.wle.com/media/W075.gif

    http://superiormartialarts.com/wleimages/W075_small.jpg

And, though they certainly aren’t blunts, I’ve been gunning at hookswords in the past, so I’ll duly make the request- once more, with feeling:
    http://www.ferraenoir.org/images/categories/swords_chinese_twin_hook.jpg

Also, perhaps up to a matter of debate whether it’s a blunt or not, but in the United States of Brad, a concensus of “man would it be awesome if he would include it,” a Monk Spade:

    http://www.wle.com/media/W066-C.jpg

    http://www.lgliang-arts.com/gallery/albums/album_fantasy/monk_w_spade_fc.jpg

An additional blunt/blade combo that HM has been lacking for any past editions, a cane sword:

    http://www.kopes.com/swords/paul-chen-swords/paul-chen-skull-sword-cane.jpg

    http://www.blade-empire.com/Swords/Cane/Cobra_Cane_Sword.jpg

Obviously, we can make our own variations on the grip, as you have intended by allowing multiple items to be added at one time, etc., so these are just here for the basic idea.

And, needless to say, it would further distinguish Hero Machine 3 as the most sheerly awesome character portrait creator ever if the above items were presented in the continued several split-up sections as you have in blades, a la the fantasy monk image (The sheer bad’ssery of putting a hooksword grip on the Spartan sword is a wet dream to all of us who pursue your character contests, I’m sure). Two more suggestions, and then I am done…

    The sectional staff, here: http://www.mykaratestore.com/store/images/25-33_black-foam-3-section-staff.jpg

And some version of spiked hammer. This can be the unique variant shown in The Chronicles of Riddick, wielded by the guard who was killed by the mighty Furian’s teacup (Sorry, I could find no image of that specific weapon, but clearly with the dagger, you have at least knowledge of the movie), or your own unique and, most likely, superior variant on the theme.

Well Jeff, I hope I have amused you in my lengthy post, or at least provided a break from the image lookup monotony by providing my one-sided psuedo-conversation between links, and, in any event, would love to know what you think as a whole.

PS: Blunts beat firearms by a narrow margin- the only headline that would sell newspapers ridiculously fast for sheer universal interest in the story.

  67. Hakoon1 says:

Is there going to be an instuments section again? If not I suggest a broken guitar (if it doesn’t come under miscellaneous).

  68. Xavier Kain says:

I don’t know if this has been mentioned or considered yet but i was thinking it would cool to do some firearms like the blade 1 and 2 sections like have full guns but also have gun parts so we can piece together custom firearms, not necessarily every gun in the program needs to be split up but a good selection of gun parts would be nice.

  69. Socrates says:

    pimp cane
    cane sword
    tetsubo
    bullwhip
    lasso
    ball and chain
    boomerang
    2×4
    police baton/tonfa
    shillelagh

  70. The Dudemeister says:

This could fit better in Hands or Gloves, but maybe some big stone fists, like Hellboy has. They don’t have to be a copy, but something like that.

Also, any futuristic blunt weapons would be great. Something that looks like it has buttons, or a futuristic stun baton. Something like that. A blunt for the techno guys.

  71. The Dudemeister says:

Oh, and maybe something like a laser whip. You know, instead of a laser sword, a laser whip.

Wrist tentacles like Omega Red would be cool too.

  72. A-Bag says:

How about a frying pan? or a chair. That might be good.

  73. Matt says:

@Eric Yeah thats about exactly what i was picturing. So a Roman cestus then is what i want. Thanks.

  74. SPAWN says:

    A sickle/syth

  75. Eric says:

Hey Jeff, will you be splitting some weapons into heads and grips like you did with some Blades?

  76. Jeff Hebert says:

@Eric: Yes, all of these blunts are split along the same lines as the Blades. Which is nice because you can use the handles and such from one with the heads of the other if you like, making for even more possibilities.

  77. Eric says:

    War Hammer
    Fighting sticks
    Brass knuckles
    Morningstar

  78. remy says:

@jeff: See, the thing is, it won’t let me create multiples of anything in shoulders. Is that my computer’s fault or what?

  79. Jeff Hebert says:

@Remy: Yes, there’s something odd with your setup. I am able to make multiple shoulders no problem.

  80. Jonathan says:

First of all, thank you very much. Im writing a book and i need to design a lot of characters (+ of 130). This tool help me a lot believe me.

    Second

I don’t wanna to spm with thousand of arms cuz i think that u’re busy right now so i leave you one.

    http://tienda.birlibirloque.com/images/rubies_espada_mata_dragon_p.jpg

Would be great a sword like this.

Thank you again and See you 🙂

  81. Jonathan says:

btw i forgot, someday will you think to include a third colour? I mean, for some details.

  82. panda says:

could you give the same options you did for the handguns with larger firearms? plus give shiftable options for pant legs
