We are pleased to announced that you can now download the full HeroMachine 2.5 application for use on your local computer, freeing you from needing an Internet connection (once it's downloaded and installed the first time, of course). You can access the HeroMachine Desktop Edition 2.5 here. Be forewarned, the new version is literally twice the size of the old one, clocking in at almost 60MB.
This release is the culmination of a year of hard work, and we're very proud to have it finished and in your hands. The Expansion features hundreds of new items and doubles the overall size of the application. We hope you enjoy using it as much as we've enjoyed putting it together for you.
Just a quick question–why does my downloaded Hero Machine try to connect with a website (secure-us.imrworldwide.com) when I try to use it?
Oh, poop. I forgot to take out the ad tracking code I had to put in for the online version. I’ve updated the file and am uploading it now, it’ll be fixed within the hour. Sorry about that everyone.
Excellent, Jeff! I just downloaded it and test loaded a character I’d already created. It still has that left hand glitch unfortunately, but I can work around this. Cool! I’ve been waiting for this since I first discovered HeroMachine!
Thanks for the fast fix!
Jeff, you probably already know this, but there’s a pale imitation of HeroMachine over at Marvel.com–vastly inferior to HM 2.5 in every respect. The Marvel knockoff frequently balks when you try to save your character’s image as a JPEG file, and it isn’t even downloadable. You and the UGO gang did fine work on this puppy. Give yourselves a pat on the back.
hey jeff also including the left hand glitch it wont pair items such as gloves and footwear
