HM3: Tails, you win!

I've just updated the HeroMachine 3 Alpha with BackplaneTails, featuring twelve various rump-appendages, from fox tails to a really cool mechanical scorpion stinger. Hope you like them!

Also, I put up a modified MouthStandard set featuring the evil sideways tongue teeth ensemble, as well as a BackplaneStandard that includes squid tentacles.

There is a bug with one of the tentacles in backplane/standard section. The second last artificial tentacle gives the same octopus tentacle as the picture.

  2. Gabriel says:

I love all the latest updates Jeff but is there any chance of some female parts being included?

  3. Jeff Hebert says:

Thanks Kalkin, try it now — it should be fixed.

  4. Jeff Hebert says:

@Gabriel: Yes, but after the set of items is complete for the male. Keeping multiple sets of items coordinated across multiple body templates is a massive pain in the butt. It’s a lot easier to get everything done and then just convert it all at once.

  5. JR says:

Jeff, for once i don’t have any thing more that i wnt in the tails section, so your doing great!
    Thx.

Hey Jeff, I noticed what may be a bug. Before you introduced the new head and face components, when you switched to portrait view, it gave you a pic of everything down to belt level. Now though, it cuts off at mid-chest. Was this intentional, or is it just some random bug?

  7. Niall Mor says:

    Hi, Jeff,

Here’s a link to an HM3 character I made this afternoon that I think is pretty cool: Red Hawk 2. But I was wondering why the character seems to be standing closer to the left side of the viewing area and the screen. I didn’t move him or rotate him in any way. I’ll be glad when you finish a set of masks. I think HM 3 is going to be great, and you’re doing a great job.

  8. Jeff Hebert says:

@Imp: That was intentional, and I thank you for bringing it up because frankly, I forgot I did it and I meant to ask the community about it.

I changed it to zoom in closer because while I was testing the facial features, I still couldn’t really see them at the zoomed size. I figured if I was going to make a portrait view, I might as well make it a true portrait, head and shoulders only.

So what do you think, keep it like this or change it back to the waist-up view?

  9. Lyogi says:

I like the new closer view

  10. coyote ytmn says:

New zoom is good. Did the first face from scratch, and such helped lots!

  12. Danny Beaty says:

    Suggestions: In Left/Right Hand Items:
A rubber chicken (Like you buy at novelty stores.).
    A seltzer bottle.
    A Boston Cream pie.
    Tops:
    A squirting lapel flower.
This one takes explaining: Do you remember those toy robots that would walk a little bit, stop, and then doors on the chest would open and machine guns would pop out of the chest and begin firing? How about some of those pop-out chest machine guns? That would be cool.
    Thanks Jeff!

  14. Gabriel says:

Thanks Jeff. I didn’t think of it that way. Makes sense.
Also someone made a request for some steampunk items. I’d like to second that request.

  15. Mkall says:

Thanks for all the hard work Jeff,

Any chance at seeing a shark-style tail?

  16. The Imp says:

Personally, I liked the old zoom level better. This one doesn’t show nearly as much of the character. 🙁

  17. sckitz says:

Just wondering if yoou are going to put in “mideveil” and or even “stone age” atire/backrounds/equipment?

  18. Jeff Hebert says:

@sckitz: Yes, just as there were many (many) such items in HM1 and HM2 and HM2.5, there will be many (many) such items in HM3.

A lot of people are asking for steampunk items. I’ll do what I can, but I don’t really know exactly what that means. If anyone can post or mail me some links to sites that have good images of what you’re wanting, that would be much appreciated.
