@Vengeance thanks! I love trying to shade flat objects to make them look 3D and the simple design I felt simply fit the character but I really dig it!

@Suleman I agree that while it looks good, a lot of the detail just kind of blends in. Maybe more simple shading is in order… although to be fair, most of those layers are on his trident as I had a highlight and a shadow on every bead of his staff. I’ll also try a different line colour for the fish net. I don’t really ever change the line colour as I like the contrast that the black lines give to the background but then again the fishnet isn’t on the background so I’ll defin try it!

I see where you’re coming from with the perspective. I’m not that great at posing so it was kind of a basic attempt. I probably won’t bother fixing it but in future I’ll look at making them seem more accurate, perspective wise. Thanks for the input, I really do appreciate it!

The colors do look rather wonderful! That being said, 600 layers is an awful lot. That level of detail is more than viewers can actually notice.

It might be a good idea to adjust the line color for the fishnet piece. Right now the outlines seem a bit too thick and dark for the rest of the item. Playing with line colors is fun in general!

Something about the forward foot seems off to me, but I’m not sure why. Maybe the forward leg should be a bit longer than the back leg, because of perspective?

For this character I decided to take a break from creating my Champions and create something different. So for my next creation, here is Poseidon! Greek god of the Seas and Oceans!

Poseidon - Greek god of the Seas and Oceans

The design for Poseidon consisted of almost 600 layers as I was trying to give his pants a silky-oceany look to them. I also forced myself to shade every little bead on his staff in order to satiate my OCD :p

I felt like his hair and beard turned out alright. This is actually the first character that I have posted with hair and I wasn’t sure if it would look good but the blend of whites and greys makes his hair look more realistic to me.

I was also really happy with how I made his fishnet robe thingy. I used a robe piece from ‘male medieval common’ and then made colour 1 and colour 2 transparent. I then added a pattern to get those lines and I think it really completes the ‘god of the sea’ look. What do you guys think?

Hope you guys like this one. If you have any suggestions on what gods you would like me to make next feel free!

Woah, Dr. Magus is striking! I also really love your subtle shading, it really gives your characters a unique feel to them

Thanks gjc6664, before I did any shading I wasn’t sure how the colours would look because they looked kind of bland but after I started shading I really began to like it.

Rounding out the All-Stars is The Wolf.

Charles Canis was in the United States Navy World War II. While coming back to America after the war ended, his ship crashed on rocks off the coast of a small, uninhabited island in the Pacific during a storm. Canis was one of just ten survivors. The ten sailors formed an alliance to stay alive, and immediately decided to seek out a source of fresh water. As they walked they discovered that the island looked bizarrely like a North American temperate forest, complete with corresponding flora and fauna. As they travelled, they came upon a pack of wolves. There were too many to run, so one of the men stayed behind, trying to distract the wolves. The other nine never saw him again. The nine continued on, eventually finding a small stream They all drank. Over the next few years, eight of the remaining men died, whether by starvation, poisonous wildlife, bear attacks, or falling, leaving only Canis.

Fast forward to 2010. Canis, despite being over eighty-five years old, still looked just as he had when he arrived on the island (aside from being noticeably dirtier and having long hair and a beard). He came to suspect that it might be the stream, as the wolves never seemed to die, but the plants always died in autumn. In April of 2010, Canis was finally rescued by a helicopter. However, just before he got in the vehicle, he was attacked by a wolf. Canis immediately started to transform, becoming somewhat more wolf than man. A man on board the helicopter was able to tranquilize Canis and the wolf, and Canis was returned to the mainland. Next thing Canis knew, he was laying in a bed with the Warrior looking down at him. Later, Canis found out that the helicopter had been sent by the Warrior to get water from the stream.

The Wolf can transform into a human-wolf combination at will (though it can also be triggered by bursts of emotion.) He can also control the degree to which he transforms (except for when he loses control, in which he immediately morphs into a more powerful, though far less stable state. If he totally loses control, he could become permanently stuck in a highly transformed state.)

When in his wolf form, Canis has claws and fangs, as well as highly enhanced strength, speed, senses, endurance, and agility. In general, Canis is immortal (though not invulnerable).

I am finally uploading my updated Iceberg, which I finished a while ago but haven’t posted yet. I still think the ice looks off, but I think it looks a little better.

Thanks! I might also use your “Aiden” suggestion. For a while, I was using Latin for my characters last names (i.e., the Eagle’s citizen name is Manuel Aquilla (not sure what the correct spelling is), Aquilla being Latin for eagle), but I probably won’t do it for Ember. Most Latin words pertaining to flame are way too obvious (Flamma, Ignatius, et cetera.)
