Mantis

Flagship hero number three, Kazuko Haraguchi was tragically orphaned in a chemical explosion in her native Japan as a child – an accident which caused her to develop infrared and ultraviolet sight, and the ability to hear ultrasound frequencies. Taken in by the Order of Divine Assassins and given genetically enhanced reflexes and agility, she was brainwashed and trained in multiple martial arts to become a mindless killing machine.

The Order’s programming was eventually undone by the Jetman after several violent encounters, and after proving herself as the hero under the name ‘Mantis’ she became a founding member of the IFL.

The Jetman

Second on the flagship roster, Jerome Järvinen uses technology – namely a winged jetpack and suit of versatile power armour – to fight crime from the skies as ‘the Jetman’. A blonde haired, blue eyed man from Finland, this former military test pilot and current CEO of Järvinen Enterprises created the International Freedom League and recruited the other founding members.

Paragon

The first flagship hero of the VSU (Vaudeville Superhero Universe – I literally just made that up), Chris Petrakis is a mountainous Greco-American man who possesses  a mutant myostatin gene that grants him incredible superhuman strength, endurance, and durability. A veteran hero of some experience, all-round nice guy, and second founding member of the International Freedom League.

As one of the most recognised and popular superheroes in the world, he fights crime and threats to the Earth as ‘Paragon, the pinnacle of man.’

His superhuman reflexes allow him to keep up mentally with his own physical speed, and grant a level of agility and acrobatic skill beyond normal humans – able to dodge even high velocity bullets with relative ease. As his body is adapted to the pressure of travelling at super speed, he has an unusually tough muscular and skeletal structure, allowing him to shrug off most physical blows that would seriously hurt, or even kill, a normal human.

Eventually no longer able to stand by and do nothing as crime levels only increased, he created the Jade Tornado costume in secret over a number of years and began fighting crime. The popularity of his costumed persona skyrocketed overnight, which led to him moving to a bigger city and taking a day job at a travel agency with more ‘sociable’ hours. He still follows his passion for cooking in private, and fills up as much of his time with hobbies as possible. When in costume, he adopts a much more reserved, dignified, and enigmatic persona than in his civilian life.
Fears: Full scale war between superhumans and humanity, needles, enclosed spaces.

You’re more than welcome to have a go at any of the characters from my gallery, especially some of the earlier designs from when I was a little less skilled. Major costume changes are totally acceptable!

If I had to choose a character, I would really like to see a new and better costume for my female speedster ‘Velocity’. As long as it uses purple as a main colour, anything goes! I don’t really mind which character you want to do, though.
