Threw this one together this afternoon/evening:

An interstellar hitchhiker-type of alien. She’s very attached to the jacket, after picking it up from an isolated corner of an otherwise-busy space station. Also very long-lived, and as such she’s gained a sense of fashion that’s a bit of a mish-mash, become rather crazy prepared (such as learning to keep a towel on her person at all times):

I may have been a little bit inspired by one or two elements of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (i.e. the thing about carrying a towel around).

Very good. As a rule, it’s essential to know where your towel is. And where to get a decent cup of tea. So she seems to be sorted…

Since I’m currently being plagued by artist’s block and I can’t come up with any decent ideas for characters at the moment, here’s the same alien hitchhiker as above, just without her jacket this time:

What’s this? A new creation?
For the latest contest, I’ve actually managed to have an idea!
Here we have the latest person chosen to carry Excalibur and defend the UK- Liz (I could come up with a design, but not a decent name. That says… something. On the other hand, maybe I’m being incredibly clever ’cause Liz is short for Elizabeth, and the name of the Queen is Elizabeth, and she represents the country, and Liz defends the country! Nah, really I just thought giving the defender of the country the shortened version of it’s sorta-kinda ruler’s name seemed fitting.).
Also I think I was subconsciously influenced by Captain Britain’s costumes.
