    Hi everyone, first posting!

Is anybody else working on something for the Friday Night Fight? I’m puzzled to know why there haven’t been any more entries. It took me a while to get my head around what was wanted, but it seems like a great idea. Kind of like, what if superheroes existed and always had… shades of parallel history. It’s like someone in the DC Universe doing a kids’ book of Metahumans Through The Ages!

I’m working on mine. I haven’t had all that much practice with HeroMachine and it’s taking me a while to work out how to do what I wanted to do. Almost there now. Has anybody else done invisibility powers, and if so can I see how you tackled it, please? I’m trying to do things with transparent parts but it’s very fiddly.

    All the best,
    Folkly (formerly ABC123)

Hi Folkly, I am SO far THE entrant for this round of FNF
I have done invisibility in the past, it can be done by masking the backgound onto the for ground or by turning a part transparent by turning the alpha down!

Let me see if I can find the tutorials for you…

If you go onto the item colour selection screen in the top right corner there is a small slider labelled alpha, this controls the transparency of the colour selected. Slide it to 0 to get full transparency.

Masking begins on page the last page of lesson 1 (controls have since changed figure B should help)

Too hard? Surprised I’m on a loser, then – you’re a far, far better costume artist than me. I had a look through some of yours out of curiosity and was really impressed. I’d love to see what you came up with for this, even if you weren’t really trying!
Thanks for the instructions, Keric, it helps. Right, that’s “Moses” sent off, and about time too. I’ve spent much too much time trying different things on her and then changing them back again.
Anyone else? Think of an Indian, any Indian… Smile you’ve got a clear field, because I couldn’t think of an Indian! I did think I knew a bit more American history than that, but apparently not. Time to do a little reading.

Here’s my character called Fader. I used transparent colors and skeletal and internal parts to imply the invisibility. I also called her Blue Ghost.http://www.heromachine.com/wp-content/legacy/forum-image-uploads/wndbassplayer/2013/11/FADER.pnghttp://www.heromachine.com/wp-content/legacy/forum-image-uploads/wndbassplayer/2013/11/boo.png I haven’t worked on this character in quite a while, and looking at this now, I see shouldn’t cast such a dark shadow if she’s fading into full invisibility. Details, details! That’s the kind of stuff to pay attention to if you want you characters to make sense.

One could easily argue that the aura would darken the shadow by ‘pushing’ the light away, but that should make the shadow larger and misshapen . . .

Again, good argument. Regarding superheroes/metahumans, there is always a degree of belief suspension, but it makes a character more enjoyable for me if even in their impossibility they make sense. Did that sentence make sense?Confused

Yes. So fade or enlarge and misshape it. Which way you go should correspond to whether light is bent around the person or whether the molecules themselves are being messed with.
