HeroMachine3 101, part 1

Hammerknight did a ton of work, putting together a “basics” guide on how to use HeroMachine 3 for the beginner. I’m going to break this up into several weeks, starting with a brief tour of the controls.

Thanks Hammerknight!

Anything that helps beginners understand the program quicker is great. Great job Hammerknight!

  2. Jeff, on a side note, I don’t think randomize will ever work successfully on HM3. Unless you’re going somewhere I can’t visualize, maybe you should just remove it.

    just my 2 cents…..

  3. note #2: maybe you should include another page from that tutorial, or remove page 6 for now… stopping in the middle of the masking instructions is a bit of a cliffhanger… ;)

  4. I think this is great! Thank you Hammerknight for taking the time to help make this site more enjoyable. I only learned how to use the mask function about 3 months ago.(From a Hammerknight tip!) I’m sure I can probably learn something from this basic “how to” guide. Again, thanks HK!!!

That’s just to make sure you come back for more. To be continued . . .

  6. Actually, this brings to mind a question. I get moving layers up and down, but what’s the far right button in that set do? I’ve tried to use it before and only managed to confuse myself.

  7. That’s the “Confuse User” button, and clearly it’s working as intended.

Seriously, it’s supposed to be a “Reset All Layers” function but it’s not actually functional at this time. Oops.

  8. When doing this I learned some new things also. I get a lot of help from Isia, because we both like to try new things with HM3, it really helps that she is just across the room from me. It really is helpful to have another set of eyes.
I am glad that everyone likes the 101 so far.

  9. i know this is under cunstruction but, it keeps asking to use my computer space !?! and at certain times during the day it gets sooooooooooo slow. but on the other hand this is all GREAT.!
