HarlekinMemberHello everyone this is my Lick and Tricks with Harlequin topic where i shown how to made real manga characters with hm3.
First tutorial is the head.
Both Male and Female
1. Use two standard female head shape.
2. Choose out two standart face (for example a male and female) why we do this because that helps for find the perfect size for our custom face items.
3. Color all skin item with the same.
4. I tell a lot of time insignias my best best friends. Choose the half circle insignias and transparent the color of the 2 and the line color.
5. Zoom for the heads. Easier to find the perfect scale of the items.
6. To use “the example faces lines” use the insignias (half circle, circle, rectangle, triangle) and draw an eye shape but a little bit bigger to seen like an Manga eyes (male eyes are little and ticker, female eyes are bigger)
7. Choose the circle insignia with all color (second is the brightest) to make the eyeball.
8. Also use the circle insignias (only color 1 is active) choose the white color to made the inner eyes (sorry i don’t know the english name)
9. So give more feminim style for our female manga character so use triangle insignias to make her eyeleash.
10. Use also the circle insignias (now black color) to make the eyepieces.
11. Cicrle insignias (white) to give reflection for the eyes.
12. Give eyebrow for our characters. (everyone use the standard or use insignias no differency)
13. Draw a nose with insignias (use the shape of the face or try out something different shape or use standard nose item).
14. Draw the mouth (like the nose you draw your own or use standard items.)
15. Delete for the standard faces and you made your own HM3 manga face.
I know first not an easy to do this, but this is not an hard thing maybe this procedure not more than 10 min, but you have the feeling what you use is your own.
I give everyone for the text this example pictures. Try out how works it.

Kaylin88100ParticipantYeah, that would be great. I’d also like a tutorial on how you do hair, it always looks great.

HarlekinMemberWelcome to my Licks and Tricks with Harlequin topic where i show how i can made my manga style characters.
For the request of Kaylin i show how can i make my hairs.Example 1. – Schoolgirl
1. I made a face with my method not more than 15 min. (Now i use the face for show the examples)
2. My favourite of that type of hair because that very similar for the manga hairs. In the example i use six wich six stat is the same
3. I also like that hair because give also a cropped feeling of the hair
4. I give more cropped feeling of the hair, and give straight for the end of the hair.
5. I finish and cover the plain place to not seen the skin.
6. Coloring the hair.
7. I use straigt hair to titivation more the hair and the character.
Example 2. – ELEGANT
8. Delete most of the hair what we give for the character and only left the two in the top of the head. And change color.
9. Use the straight hair to cover the eyebrows and a little the eyes.
10. Use more striaght hair to made the character hair medium long, in the sides we give little transformated to made the hair more lively
Example 3. – REBEL
11. Delete down that hairs what we use to cover the eyebrows and the eyes. change the hair color, and the eye color
12. Choose that hair in the Zombie section (now i very favourite this hair, very usefull) And only use that to give the hair more manga feeling.
Example 4. – Elfie
13. Delete down all hair only what we use in 8. Step. Change hair color, eye color, and Ears. Now we made an elf.
14. I don’t wrote down what i do. I use a lot of hair type (straight, wavy, cropped, etc) But the hair is very elfish
A lot of good hair item in HM3. Don’t fear to combine, not a lot of time, but the result is very good.

HarlekinMemberBack to the line so try out a manga aka Harlequin type pose.
So this is a basic sitting pose. I try to make pictures for every step but i usually remade any little things because i always seen any little mistake.
1. Use the basic female upper body
2. Change the size for the upper body
3. Give upper arms for the body
4. Give the lover arms for the upper body (need to play the sizes.)
5. Giva a head, to seen to good of the body parts scales.
6. Use head part to made our female thights. (I usually use heads to made the legs more prefer than the original leg parts.)
7. Use also the head parts to made calfs. (in the picture seen to use bigger size than the (200×200) everyone give the size manually)
8. Give foots to see how works the body proportion.
9. Give an hand to the body
10. Give also an hand and play the size of the hands to good for the composition.
11. Use the third breast in the body section to made the bottom part of the character.
12. Also use that part to make the breast part for the character and move out the shoulders a little.
13. Use insignais to cover the shoulder and the leg parts.
14. Layer down the insignia what we use the shoulder, and coloring full white the insignias on the legs.
15. Here is the sitting manga/Harlequin type body what we do.

JR19759KeymasterI had a bit of a problem with the text that you posted Harlequin. It had a load of /tab and /par stuff at the start and end of the lines, so I went through and removed them and it worked. It might just have been my computer, but I’ll post the edited text incase it happened to anyone else, if that’s alright with you.

WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantThanks for posting these tips! Very helpful. I would have never thought to use body parts for other than what they are. I was really impressed at the way you used head parts to make legs!
