A fateful accident gave Brad Farson the power he wields today. He was a construction worker in Ford City. One month, his crew was demolishing an abandoned laboratory building. As Brad was smashing dry wall with a sledge hammer, he suddenly noticed something shiny amid the rubble. He sifted through the debris and found a strange looking suit lying there, at one point apparently hidden. He secretly stuffed it into his coveralls and brought it home. That night, he tried it on, and found that it automatically sized itself to be a perfect fit on his body. But the biggest surprise came when he walked around. Sparks of electricity went off all over the suit, and then were absorbed into the built-in belt. Brad soon found that the belt could store massive amounts of static power, and that when he wore the suit, he could fire it off in blasts of energy. He now fights crime at night as the hero Friction, unbeknownst to his wife and infant son. He has since retired from crime fighting and is now mentor to Friction II, his niece. Brad’s retirement is the product of unfortunate battle with the villainous terrorist group known as the Fourth Reich, a paralytic injury that his niece avenged.

Harriett is actually the second person to carry the mantle of Friction. her uncle Brad was the original. Brad possessed a technologically advanced suit that created sparks of electricity when he moved, and then could store and fire the electricity in long bolts utilizing his boots, belt, chestplate, and gloves.
Harriett was the only person in the world who knew that Brad was moonlighting as Friction. She only knew because she caught him wearing the suit when she was 14 and he finally broke down and confessed to her. After years of being the shocking hero, Brad had come to understand the composition of his unique costume, and after Harriett’s pleas he finally agreed to create a second suit and allow her to be his sidekick.
And so it was that Amp was born. Brad and Harriett became legendary as a crime-fighting duo until Brad was paralyzed in a drawn-out fight with the sinister Fourth Reich. By this time Harriett was 18, and Brad deemed her worthy to begin a solo career, and carry the name Friction.
She did so with a heavy heart, but in honor of her uncle, Harriett lit up the streets of Ford City with her bright flashes of electricity in battle against the Fourth Reich. With the help of the Dogs of War, the Fourth Reich was defeated and detained.
This victory got her noticed by the Dynamo Council, and she was asked to join the team.

When nearly all of the superhuman population of Earth was wiped out thanks to a virus synthesized and spread by the White Scare during his takeover of America, the Hero Corps were no exception. But scientists on the planet Valerin, in appreciation of Earth’s heroes for saving their world on more than one occasion, created artificial intelligence versions of each of the team’s six original members in what would be the 100th year of Hero Corps. With this added bit of force, the resistance was eventually able to topple the cruel dictatorial efforts of the White Scare and restore some sort of true order to the United States.
Frizor was built to replace Ice Prince, a superhero who had the ability to hurl frozen streams of ice at his foes.

Mexican-American Dante was a typical high school student at Upton Central when he was the victim of an X-13 attack. A bit of a pyromaniac, Dante was engulfed in the chemical while flicking on and off a Zippo lighter given to him by his father, and his DNA fused with the flame to make him into a human bonfire. Unlike most sufferers of X-13 exposure, Dante adjusted well, and his carefree, happy-go-lucky attitude helped him to quickly gain control of his new ability and decide to become a superhero. He then joined forces with two other high school boys, Shadowkid and Velocity, to form the teenage group the Wonderboys. Dante is a self-professed ladies’ man, though his illusions of grandeur are often shot down well before they can do any seducing.

Harold Meeks would have fit in well with the Tomorrow Teens, who, unbeknownst to him, go to the same high school as him. He is brainy, shy, and socially outcast. But instead of seeking friendship, Harold seeks vengeance. Using his super-intelligence, Harold constructs all sorts of electronic weaponry in an attempt to get back at those who have ever made fun of him throughout his life. He is one of the major enemies of the Tomorrow Teens.

Andrew is the son of Ken and Elizabeth Magnum, Britain’s top two agents in the secret organization known as the Night Patrol. When Andrew fell seriously ill with a debilitating disease as a child, his parents smuggled an experimental serum from one of the labs and administered it to their ailing child. Andrew’s body not only eliminated the disease, but it suddenly became endowed with incredible strength.
For much of his teen years and early twenties, Andrew, then code named Galahad, fought alongside the Round Table, a group of Camelot-themed British superheroes. At the age of twenty-four, he was recruited into the newly-founded team known as Her majesty’s League of Heroes as John Bull, a fictional character who embodies the very essence of England, much like Uncle Sam in the U.S. Andrew rose through the ranks and after 10 years became the League’s leader. He has recently resigned from the squad and become a solo hero, protecting the citizens of London from evil. He is also a valued advisor to the Minister of Defense.
