Character Design Contest ♯104- RANDOMNESS ABOUND!

Hopefully everyone is going to find something fun to do this week. It's another random name generator challenge. This time out, I want you to go to this site- http://superhero.namegeneratorfun.com select make a random name and make it gender neutral, then what ever comes up, you do. Great thing about this site is that it not only gives you a name but a small backstory and a power set as well, some of which are brilliant Just to prove this, this is what I got- Untitled

You can either follow these suggestions or completely disregard them, but you must use the name. If you do use the backstory and powers, please include them in your post, they're always good for a giggle.

As per usual, no limits on entries this week and the contest will close at midnight Saturday (blog time).  Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings. Only post pictures and images that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

Character Design Contest ♯103 (Party Time) Poll

[polldaddy poll="8574987"]

I’ve got nothing for this one

Character Of The Week: Linea24- Twilight Sky

COTW is back for the new year and we're going to kick it off in style with this wonderful piece of landscape work by Linea.

I'm a sucker for a good picture that dispenses with a character and instead just focuses solely on the background, and that is just what this is. Of course, the sunset dominates the picture, the almost golden, orange glow being the central focus here, giving the picture a gorgeous warm feel. This warmth is amplified by the rest of the colours in the far back areas of the image, deep blues, greens, oranges and purples making for a rich and inviting background scenery, without a cold colour in sight.

Then we come to the foreground. With its dull greys and muted browns, it is a perfect contrast to the warm and vibrant background, but even here Linea has managed to add a bit of warmth, with the reflection of the sunset on the rocks and trees. Of course, I've mentioned before in COTW's past how I love Linea's shading style. In some cases, such as this one, it almost looks like the shadows were done using charcoals (best example would be the two dark branches on the right hand side of the picture). This gives the shading such brilliant depth, and really sets off the rest of the picture.

A Very Big Question

Okay guys, I was thinking of doing a count down of my Top 10 Best Marvel Superheroes for my reviews profile on Deviantart as a way to celebrate the New Year, but I've run into a small problem. Who do I put on the list? There are some obvious ones; Spider-Man, Captain America, The Hulk, who have to be on it. There are some that you may not immediately think of who could qualify (Black Panther anyone? First black superhero, big deal) and then there are those who you'd never even consider, but still made a big impact on the Marvel universe (the original Human Torch or Ant-Man/ Giant Man). So, I've come up with a genius level solution. I'm going to let you guys tell me who to put on the list. Give me your list of the Top 10 Greatest Marvel Superheroes in the comments below, with your reasoning why they should be considered as one of the top 10 and their defining moment in the comics (it doesn't have to be their greatest triumph or what caused them to become a superhero, for example you could say that Spider-Man's defining moment was the death of Gwen Stacy because it was the first time that such a major character was killed off in the comics, or Iron Man's defining moment was when he became an alcoholic, because it made the super-rich, super-handsome, super-heroic Tony Stark more relatable as a normal human being).

So, over to you. Who are your Top 10 Marvel Superheroes (they don't have to be in any order if you want) and why?

Well someone’s not getting ANY presents…
