Character Design Challenge #464– RPG Character Classes Challenge – Part3 – Barbarians and Berserkers

For the next few weeks we will be building a team of RPG characters based on the following classes: Warrior/Fighter, Knight/Paladin, Barbarian/Berserker, Monk/Martial Artist, Archer/Ranger, Thief/Rogue/Assassin, Priest/Healer, Mage/Wizard, and finally Summoner/Necromancer/Druid.

Your CDC challenge this week is to create an original Barbarian or Berserker.

The winning entrant will receive a HM3 version of their character rendered by yours truly.

The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges:

Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters.No characters based on Official RPG NPC's ( Non-Player Characters ). Please keep all submissions PG13. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. Only post characters that have been created solely using Hero Machine, and that you know for certain have never been entered in a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShackPhotoBucket, or whatever);

  • Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
  • Please name your filesas [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.

Please make the link go directly to the image (like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this).

This contest will close on Monday, June 1st  at 6:00pm Eastern

    Wow, great pic. I’m tempted to try a straight recreation of it in HM…

    After a long time I am back, but honestly i couldn’t figure out how to post otherwise (I have forgotten, or I am incompetent I guess)…

    Barbarian warlord Carthax:

    Half-Goliath/Half-Yeti Barbarian -From the Siitsaru region of Ghoraja-Juun

  4. ExtremelyEPIC says:

    Kehadyr is said to be nothing less than a bloodthirsty animal. Able to shrug off the most devastating of blows and retaliate with an even more devastating attack than that of his enemy. He has become such a threat that not even the most skilled bounty hunters in all the lands could bring him down. Not even entire armies were able to cut him down and all that is left of them are their lifeless, barely recognizable bodies.

  5. Cille says:

    A tiefling don’t need much reason to be mad at the world that scorns her, and the little orphan girl that the whores teased for being a “tempest in a teapot” grew up to be a Tempest with a very large axe and the muscles to wield it. She can keep her temper on a low simmer when it suits her, but once she’s done playing it cool, somebody’s gonna regret looking at her the wrong way.

  6. StarkillerRX says:

    My entry this week (actually my first one since last year) is Beörnig the Wrathful.

    I decided to take the concept of a “berserker” literally, using the ancient Nordic mythology concept of it: a warrior able to channel the fury of a wild bear. In this case, my barbarian has the power to turn into a were-bear, combining his sharp claws, martial ability and humongous size to slay his enemies… at least the ones that won’t flee in terror from the mere visage of this half-animalistic abomination.

  7. Mags says:

    Oshiru was taken by orc berserkers who raided his village at a young age. His face was burned from the fire at his house that the orcs set. The orcs trained him in their ways and raised him up to be one of the most well-known outlaws in the land.
    Oshiru likes to go around pillaging villages and terrorizing innocents. He stole all of his possessions. He wears the armor, clothes, and belongings of only those he defeats in battle.
