Ok guys, this week I want you to create an awesome sci-fi character. But this time there's a twist, you have to mix another genre in with it. So for example, you could create a fantasy character with a sci-fi twist, such as a android paladin or a an alien wizard. Genres you can choose from include:
Fantasy, Western, Anime, Steam/ Cyber-Punk, Ninja, Superhero and Horror.
The winner this week will receive my version of their design rendered in glorious HM3.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. Please keep all submissions PG13: full or partial nudity is prohibited. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. Only post characters that have been created solely using Hero Machine, and that you know for certain have never been entered in a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.
All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShack, Deviant Art or whatever);Do not use Photobucket.
- Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
- No copyrighted characters please – they will be deleted.
- Please name your filesas [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.
Please make the link go directly to the image (like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this).

Hey, I’ve been using HM3 for years to create my characters. I don’t use the premium program, and like most rely on the in browser, flash based tool.
I don’t know if you’ve heard, or if you realize, but come 2020 (the end of this month) browsers by the plenty and even flash itself will stop running flash player.
A lot of people have quickly gone and fixed this by making falsh ran programs converted to HTML5 which is the new standard (as of 2020). But a lot haven’t.
I really don’t want to loose this amazing tool, and so I just want to know if you’re prepared for the end of flash, and what the future of Heromachine will be without it.
Thank you, much love and admiration,
They’re on it! 👍
Hey, djuby. Can Pirates count as a genre to use for mixing?
Here’s another one!
Here is my alien alchemist:
Zanath was a brilliant scientist among his people and had just unlocked the key to transmuting matter. A trusted lab assistant wanted the credit for his discovery, so the assistant sabotaged his ship prior to a galactic journey. He survived the crash but was marooned on Earth. Luckily, he still had a version of his matter transmutation device. After “borrowing” the face of the one unfortunate person who witnessed the crash, Zanath was able to fit in among the populace. He learned about the practice of alchemy and realized that these fools’ pitiful attempts would never come close to the matter transmutation feats he had accomplished. After creating a garish outfit and reconfiguring his matter transmutation device into a gauntlet adorned with a fake Philosopher’s Stone, he presented himself to the world as Roberval, an alchemist from a distant land. His unique abilities gained him favor with royalty and other powerful individuals, allowing him to build up resources and plan for the day in which he would return to his home planet and take revenge on the one who betrayed him.
Note: After creating this character, I realized that he looks reptilian and is disguised as a person. I am not one of those people who secretly believes that the world is run by reptilian overlords.
I don’t really have a title for this one, but the mashup I decided on was futuristic and the Wild West/cowboys. It was fun to imagine what the would be like of the Wild West stayed wild far into the future.
I went with sci-fi and cyberpunk
Korra the cyberpunk hacker
She can hack and control any mechanical or computer device.
For my first one I chose the genres of Western and Sci-fi to create the Cyber Outlaw, he goes around the west on his metal steed to rob cheat and steal for as long as his mechanical heart beats.
Isn’t cyberpunk already a sci-fi genre?
my second one was a mixture of horror and sci-fi. As space adventures travel to the far edge of the galaxy they are drawn to the blood moon putting them into a gaze that makes them crash land on the darkened planet. It is there whoever survives the crashes is hunted down by the horrid beast that captures them and brings them to the blood pool. There he rips them apart and squezes every ounce of blood out of them then devours the flesh off their bones and then piles them up to lay in the bliss of the blood moon.
Cyberpunk is one of the suggestion choices on djuby’s post
Captain Alvin “Cutthroat” Dread

A pirate in the near or distant future, where technological advancements have surpassed all previous imaginations. Nearly everyone in the world has at least one cybernetic enhancement. Some humans are nearly addicted to them, thinking more enhancements makes them better and better. Cutthroat and his crew have embraced the technological lifestyle, and use their implants and other tech to further their swash-buckling quest. Their ship can now fly, most of their swords are laser-projected, and everyone has more than one enhancement.
Fantasy and Western: Gunner Giles had that moment when a shot parted his mane . . .
