CDC #366 – Team Building – Part 5

The premise of this contest is that over the next number of weeks we will build a team of superheroes and a team of villains. Each week I will supply you with a role, name, or list of powers of one of the team members and you will use HM3 to create the character. The winner each week will win a version of their character created on HM by yours truly.

Your challenge this week is to design the hero team’s mystic character. A man of unknown origin, he also counsels the team, offering wisdom and spiritual guidance. (Think Dr, Fate crossed with Dr. Strange). His powers include flight, telekinesis, and the ability to transport himself to different timelines. He can also conjure “neuro-orbs”; small orbs that when broken emit a neuromuscular blocker that renders his opponent immobile, but completely aware, for a short period of time. He wears a helmet that protects him from Dr. Epoch’s neurological manipulations, a power he can pass onto his allies through touch.

Please follow the instructions below regarding the naming of entries.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. Please keep all submissions PG13: full or partial nudity is prohibited. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. Only post characters that have been created solely using Hero Machine, and that you know for certain have never been entered in a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShack, Deviant Art or whatever);Do not use Photobucket.

  • Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
  • No copyrighted characters please – they will be deleted.
  • Please name your filesas [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.

Please make the link go directly to the image (like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this).

This contest will close at 9am Eastern on Sunday, June 3rd.

What’s his name? The last one had a name, this one doesn’t.

Also, does he have to be a he?

It is up to you to come up with a name. Yes, he has to be male.

    Jungle Druid

Origin: When his family was attacked by evil poachers the Gorilla ran away finding himself refuge in a lost Mayan Temple, there he found a mystical gem that bestowed him infinite amounts of magical knowledge increases his intelligence and power, he used this power to protect the Animals and People.

  4. Sean Murphy says:

All I can think of is the character I created some years ago that was in fact a blend of Dr Strange and Dr Fate, “Dr Weird”. (Sorry, I like pun names, especially tortured ones based on obscure semantics!) But I never came up with an original costume, I just blended the two costumes. Won’t work for this contest.

Anyone at a loss for a name, feel free to grab “Dr Weird.”

  5. Mark Williams says:

That’s a shame. My “Lady Midnight” is pretty bitchin 🙁

Why Don’t you just genderswap her and call it Mister Midnight?

Mister E. The dragon on Mister E’s shirt is enchanted to come to life on command. Its fire stuns rather than burning. Mister E’s helmet in addition to fighting off telepathic attacks, also allows him to telepathically communicate. He can transmit the attack-resistance power to his teammates by touch, but not the other abilities (though he can use the helmet to open up a communication channel between two or more people, making communication during combat far easier.)

  8. G. W. says:

Changed my mind about the dragon’s fire. Mister E can have the dragon use it either to stun or to burn (the latter being used more on objects than on people).

    Mister E.

Bad news, Mister E. is a character from DC who was used recently enough to still be copyrighted:

    ● No copyrighted characters please

  11. G. W. says:

In that case, I’ll figure out a new name.

I think I going to defend him looking at his character and looking at DC’s Mister E they seem like two completely different characters, I don’t think G.W knew about DC’s Mister E until you brought it up, Hell I haven’t heard of him until you brought it up And looking at his appearances the most recent one was somewhere in Constantine New 52 Book back in 2015, did anyone even know he had a New 52 book.

  13. Brons says:

The Wanderer is a mysterious character who walks the Paths Between Worlds. No one—perhaps even he—is certain what world he originally came from or how long ago. There are records of his appearances dating back to ancient Egypt. It is unknown if he is thousands of years own, has traveled in time. He seems to be human, though his skin is blue and he seems to have no heartbeat. He wears three artifacts that empower him: the Helm of Horus, the Cloak of Chronus, and the Sash of Shadows.

Same character under a different name: The Unknown.

  15. Blunt Object says:

    HaKa-K’uu
Once a member of an ancient and virtually unknown race tasked with maintaining the cosmic balance between the physical and meta-physical realms, HaKa-K’uu was given human form and sent to Earth to counter the potentially devastating effects Dr. Epoch’s manipulations of the timeline was having on the temporal realm.
