Ok guys, for this weeks challenge I want you to create a picture of a person undergoing some kind of transformation. I don't mean a normal looking person changing into a superhero outfit, I want a person changing form. So that can be changing into an animal/ monster, height/ weight/ muscle gain, changing genders etc. the change must be physical and noticable. You can do either a before and after image, a mid-transformation picture or, if you're feeling brave enough, a sequence. (EDIT: Should have made this clearer, you're submissions should just be in one picture).
Rules for posts, contests, and challenges: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. Please keep all submissions PG13: full or partial nudity is prohibited. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. Only post characters that have been created solely using Hero Machine, and that you know for certain have never been entered in a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.
All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShack, DeviantArt, or whatever - Please do not use Photobucket);
- Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
- Please name your filesas [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.
Please make the link go directly to the image (like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this). *
This contest will close on Sunday, September 24th at 9:00am Eastern.
Can BOTH ends of the sequence be non-humans as long as it’s a true physical transformation?
The Wolf: Charles Canis (the only character who I came up with an alter ego for) was a soldier in World War II, stationed in Europe. On the way back to the U.S., his boat crashed onto an island, leaving Canis as the lone survivor. This island was, believe it or not, essentially a temperate forest. The island also had a ton of wolves. The first thing Canis did after taking a drink from a stream that ran off of the island was to build a shelter in the treetops to stay away from the wolves. Little known to him, the river granted its drinker immortality (though the effects are only on humans. He managed to avoid being bitten by the wolves for many decades. One day, his signal fire finally attracted attention from a boat bringing goods to Boston. Just as Canis was about to board, a wolf bit him. Unbeknownst to Canis, the wolves of the island had a bite which gave the person bit mostly controlled lycantrophy. However, when first bit, one does turn into a werewolf after a period of time. For Canis, the end of this period just happened to be shortly after the ship pulled into the harbor. The captain had actually been sent by the Swordsman, who knew about the island, and had heard that passing ships had seen smoke for decades, but none had come. The Swordsman spread rumors to keep anyone but his ships from going to the island. He told the “captain” to bring in Canis, hoping to, train him in controlling his lycantrophy if he had been bitten, and in using his immortality to do some good if not. So when Canis transformed, the “captain” shot him with a tranquilizer and summoned a portal to transport both himself and Canis to the Swordsman’s camp. The Wolf can control not just when he transforms, but how much he transforms (the transformed version attached is well over halfway along in the process, and is the form usually brought on in the first transformation, and a slightly less transformed form than the one brought on by sudden bursts of rage. Canis usually transforms just to the point of fangs and claws. A full transformation is a barely anthropomorphic wolf (unless the user of the power stays in full form for too long, in which case the user becomes a full on wolf forever.))
Hi there !
First contribution ever, so please be indulgent ! And I’m french so pardon my english…
This is Oakold !
A former military man and hunter who used to kill deers for sport without even eating their meat.
He was so cruel he let the bodies behind him, in an ancient and holy forest.
One day, he was punished and cursed by the forest itself to (very slowly) turn into a tree…
This transformation is still very painful.
The left side of him represent his former humanity, or what is left of it…
His right side stands for his “treehood” and is starting to grow in branches.
You can also see his intestines start to mummify.
Not a very pleasant encounter to make at night…
(Hope the link works, it’s my first trial here…) 😀
This is your first? My earlier stuff, including contest entries, looks like absolute garbage. Heck, even my recent stuff is bad (at least for this site’s standards.)
This is not my first drawing on HM3 (more like the 5th I’d say), but this is my first try in the contest lol.
I’m sure you exagerate your drawings must look good ! The essential part is to have fun !
Zuriel and Silva
A pair of brothers that have the distinct ability to turn parts of their body to stone, or into an intimidating stone monster.
Marcury: The Planetary Morphmon. When a Marcury is born it’s cosmic power is spread throughout the universe. By accessing this distant energy, Marcury are able to teleport themselves to distant planets.
Jupiturn: The Cosmic Morphmon and the Morphed form of Marcury. When Marcury finds a planet it wants to protect, it takes this form by drawing all of its cosmic energy to itself. Jupiturn can use this energy to perform miraculous feats, but can no longer teleport to other planets.
This is an alien species known as an Ithi, this particular one has gone though heavy and tortuous experimentation by another alien race known as the Corq.
The Corq’s main objective was to add a chemical additive called Sy-3517 to various species across the galaxy and see what effects it has on them. Along the their exploration they encountered the Ithi, a species weakened by the planet’s alignment and placement. Therefore was a perfect test subject for the Corq and was modified with the additive.
Unfortunately the Corq never suspected the genetics of an Ithi and when injected with the additive became unstable and transformed into an incredible beast and warrior, the new Ithi destroyed the command base and made its way through the galaxy causing destruction and extinctions to all.
Baria was the daughter of the god of prophecy and the goddess of dreams. Before the world truly began she lived with the others of her kind on the only island in the primordial sea. One of their number, Erevel, was swept into the sea and disappeared. Though time was not as it is now, he was lost for eons. He returned to the island eventually, changed. Baria was intrigued by him and discovered he had brought a darkness back with him from the depths unlike anything this new world had ever seen. She eagerly took this darkness into herself as well, her wings shredded and replaced, her hair turned to midnight, and dark corruption spread beneath her skin as horns erupted from her forehead. Baria become the Nightmare goddess beside her new husband, the god of insanity.
