Pop Quiz – Roswell

FE_DA_121019ufo425x283

Sixty-nine years ago today, on July 2nd, 1947, an object crashed near RoswellNew Mexico. The United States Army Air Force insisted it was a weather balloon, but eyewitness accounts led to speculation that it might have been an alien spacecraft.

Your Pop Quiz challenge is to create your version of the object that crashed AND who…or what…was on board at the time.

You only get one entry so be creative, and above all else, have fun!

All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShackPhotoBucket, or whatever);

  • Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
  • The image must be new and designed specifically for the Pop Quiz;
  • No copyrighted characters please – they will be deleted.
  • Please name your filesas [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.
  • Please make the link go directly to the image(like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this). See this post on how to get the direct link for most sites.

Due to the scope of this challenge, the contest will close at 6pm Eastern on Monday, July 4th.

Happy Canada Day to all the Canadian Machiners!

Friday Night Fights: Winner

Ok, the votes are in, the poll is closed and we have a winner. I pretty sure nobody would have called the finalist we had, let alone the winner, before this contest started, but both contestants fought hard to get to the final, one being the underdog facing off against and beating some of the favourites to win, whilst the other acted as the dark horse, quietly winning through each round by fairly decent margins. However, out of the two, there can only be one winner. And that winner is Vampyrist. Congratulations Vamp, there would be a trophy or something but I kinda forgot to get it engraved, so you'll have to make do with a round of applause.

Anyway, so as to immortalise his win for posterity, here are all of Vampyrists entries for the FNF contest.

Round 1 (Modern)- James Bellamy
