Tokyo Treat Box

Hey Guys and Gals,

I have recently signed up for the Tokyo Treat Subscription service, which is essential a box full of 5 to 7 candies or snack foods from Japan. My Subscription is the cheapest one offered by the way, Here is what I want to know, would you guys like me to review these boxes for you ? Tell you what is in the box along side of pictures, and what I, my room mate, and my best friend and his wife think of candies/snacks found inside ? If there is interest in this I might consider upgrading to a more expensive subscription for a large box each month. My first box is due within the next couple days, so let me know what you think of this idea.  If my friends consent I might even record it instead of doing photos.

I think it’s be something different if you did videos of the box openings. Plus then we all get to see your reactions to all the stuff you really don’t like (also, if anything has wasabi in it and you don’t realise we get to see that). So yes from me.

Too be honest I am very surprised with myself for deciding to order the boxes. I am a very picky eater, so I know there is a lot of stuff I may not like. This is the reason I am going to have friends do the reviews with me so you can get the option of someone that isn’t so damn picky!!

@Kaldath- Then we get to see your friends faces when they get something they don’t like…. 😉
@The Atomic Punk- Do you guys not get those then? We get them in the UK and they’re pretty awesome. I didn’t know they were considered a Japanese thing.

Yeah, in the UK we get orange, mint and I’ve even seen strawberry.

If then send them, they are blind boxes, meaning I have no idea what so ever what they are sending me until open the box!

I’ve had Droste’s and Van Hooten Orange Chocolates before, and they were quite good. I’d be amenable to trying Orange Kit Kats, but no, we DON’T get them here. Are we going to have to invade Japan, again, just for holding out on us? 😀

Well the Box just came in the mail, a couple of my friends are unavailable for a couple weeks due to vacation plans so It will just me myself and my roommate April testing this box. I am likely going to record this video a little later today. It won’t be high quality video as I will just be using either the webcam on my laptop or the facetime camera on my iphone to record this.

As to the Orange Kit Kats, I see they are available on Amazon, along with Green Tea, Sweat Potato, and Pancake flavors

At least where I live in the USA, flavored Kit Kats are seasonal if sold at all. Orange Kit Kats on Halloween and sometimes mint on St. Patrick’s Day. When I was growing up, they were a rare treat. Or if you knew someone in the military who was coming back from Okinawa or Korea.

Thanks to the internet, you can order them at anytime or buy them through a boutique. The association with Japan comes from TV specials of “commercials from around the world.” Japan and Korea always had the goofy novelties. Totally bogus that only two or three varieties of Kit Kat are available locally.

@The Atomic Punk- Tell you what. If there’s ever a massive Heromachine meet up I’ll smuggle in all of the differently flavoured Kit Kats I can find for you, so you can have them all year round.
