Without specifying, did you and how many of the scenes in the trailer were you there for/work on???

  2. djuby says:

The prison scenes, and some of the car chases.

TBH, this film looks okay. Jared Leto looks to be a good Joker, but other than that I can’t really tell much. I guess they’re going to be focusing on Deathstroke, which works because he’s the most morally ambiguous of the characters they’ve got and he has the best reason to actually be good (his family), but I’m not sure about Will Smith playing him from what they show in the trailer. He seems to heroic and the whole “Let’s go save the world” line didn’t sit right. There wasn’t any irony or sarcasm in the statement like you’d expect, it seemed to straight forward, which isn’t what this film should be really. But other than that it looks okay. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Love the use of Batman masks though.
Oh actually, one gripe. Lots of Batman villains, but all of them are quite young, whilst Batman in the Superman vs. Batman film is meant to be older. Why? Or are these not meant to be set in the same universe?

I don’t think DC is aiming for a comprehensive universe the way Marvel is building around the Avengers. For some nagging reason, I thought that The Dark Knight franchise with Christian Bale would go on but Health Ledger’s death put the kibosh on it. And they wrapped it up tightly at the end of “The Dark Knight Rises.” The DC continuum is in television (“Arrow” and “The Flash”).

As for “Suicide Squad,” I am also kind of ho-hum. Mostly because I can’t stand Will Smith.

Not sure universe wise. I was also curious about Leto’s age, whereas Smith’s age seems to make sense, but I may have been getting too wrapped up in what I expected. Biggest treat was meeting Viola Davis…class act.

@The Atomic Punk – you and me both re: Mr. Smith

While I like what I see acting wise of Leto’s Joker in this trailer and think he is a good fit for the role, I still can’t stand the character design they went with. Highly doubtful I will be seeing this one in the theaters and will wait for the DVD/Blueray.
