I think he’ll be great I’ve never seen his work but he certainly looks the part
I have never heard of Tom Holland. Agree that he does look the part. Question I have is are they treating Spider-Man movies like the do the comics? That each Spider-Man is his own series (Spectacular, Amazing, Astonishing, Peter Parker… it just goes on). Same character, different storylines, for which Marvel is (in)famous.
Not trying to knock on my favorite webslinger. More that I wish Sony didn’t own the rights to Spider-Man. That way, he could be part of the overall Marvel Movie-verse. (the “continuum” if you want to be literary). I can’t be the only one who thinks that Spidey’s wit and sarcasm are sorely missing from The Avengers.
A bit off-topic but still Marvel movie related: “Ant-Man” looks like it’s going to be a fun ride. Marvel has been overwhelmingly successful though with a few stinkers (“Elektra”), groaners (“The Punisher”), and “well, that was completely unsatisfyings” (“X-Men: Last Stand”). It’s great to see my favorite superheroes come to life. Except Green Lantern. He’s dead to me now.
Atomic, Sony isn’t so bad… They realize that the MCU has become the Ultimate (sorry!) Gravy Train, and they want on, in a bad way.. So, they’re at least trying to integrate Spidey into the MCU, while not wanting to give up control of the property… Now, FOX, on the other hand, isn’t even letting the MCU use the WORD ‘Mutant’ for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, and has NO interest in cooperating with anyone…
WillyPete, yeah I understand all the property rights issues. But it’s dragging been on too long. I haven’t heard about Fox studios banning the word “mutant.” How do they justify that?
