HM3 Challenge!

I'm going to just throw this out there -- who can come up with the best "deep space" background illustration? You know, with the stars and the nebulae and the hoo-hoo and the ha-ha, all colored up all pretty? The winner gets a valuable "No Prize"!

Oh well… I won’t be able to get to this before next year, I’ll try then.

Anyway, happy new year to everyone here. Jeff in particular for giving us such a wonderful tool that lets us express our creativity.

i dont know if this counts for “Spacescape”, but here is Ouranos and Nut. i created them separately, but they are one entry. i dont know how to combine the images. any ideas?

Note: Nut’s last name is not “Case”.

    like kaldath’s spacescape.. so beautiful..

  7. Jeff Hebert says:

FRM, you should be able to load one from text, then load the next one from text while checking the “keep current items” box checked, or however it reads. That’ll duplicate the background items, is the main problem.

  8. Jeff Hebert says:

I agree, Kaldath that spacescape is great! I also like Phatchick’s a great deal.

  9. FRM says:

jeff, i made those a while back, so i dont have the text any more. it would have to be with the actual images.

on a different note, i made an archer pose, which could also be a dude holding another guy by the scruff of the neck, about to punch him. i posted the text on my wiki. if you ingeniously figure out how to do the bow being pulled back, please give me the text.

  10. Jeff Hebert says:

FRM, if that’s the case then you’re going to have to use an image editor like Photoshop. Place each image file on its own layer, use the lasso tool to select the outer edge of one of the figures, reverse the selection so you’ve everything BUT the figure selected, and delete it. That should let the layer beneath it show through with its attendant figure. You’ll have to erase around the edges of the cut-out if there are loose pixels in the way.

  11. FRM says:

jeff– that was a bit confusing, but i was thinking i could group them in MS Publisher, then save as image. i’ve noticed sometimes when i do that, it turns the black coloring to brown. since i dont get the whole “layer” thing, i’ll try Publisher.

  12. FRM says:

it kind of blurred, and i dont know about the white line, but more or less success in publisher.

  13. FRM says:

anyway, jeff, even if i did have the texts, whenever i keep currently loaded items, some wierd glitch happens.

I made this a while back. The original plan was to cover every star in the standard star background with a highlight dot. Luckily, I regained my senses about a quarter of the way through.

FIRST picture of 2012: not exactly a starscape, but merely the sun rising on a new year…..
