With thanks for their patience, I am happy to announce two more contest prizes have been approved, both from last time's Friday Night Fights. I figured I should probably get those done before this FNF concludes :-/
First up was Gene's consolation round prize. He chose a sci-fi helmet based on a wolf concept, and it is now live in Headgear-Standard:

Second is Imp's runner-up custom black and white character sketch, featuring "Rocket Ninja":

Thanks again to both of those guys for being so patient and easy to work with. These were fun illustrations to do!
Thanks again Jeff!
Jaffa Kree!

quick and dirty, but I’m at work right now π
So for those of us who don’t speak Japanese (I asume it’s Japanese with the subject being a Ninja and all but feel free to correct me if I’m wrong) can we get an english translation? Does it just translate to “Rocket Ninja” perhaps :)?
By the way, Rocket Ninja does look like it was lots of fun. My favorite part is the swords actually and I like the Ironman power supply. Every Ninja should have one of those!
Wolf Helmet = Nice. Another great option!
Yah, sorry, that is supposed to be “Rocket Ninja” in Kanji. I used a free translation site for it, though, so I wouldn’t go getting it tattooed on any sensitive areas till you had it vetted by someone who actually, you know, speaks and writes Kanji π
Quick and dirty, ’cause I’m at work:

Hey Gene (3) you are apparantly a bit of a Stargate fan by looking at a few of your character images. I thought you might appreciate this. Some Goa’uld Transport Rings.

@ MMI (4) Yes I am, it’s a great show. I had ask Jeff to model the wolf helmet in the SG style, and I think he did a great job. Maybe if some of us SG fans win some additional contest, we can get a few more Jaffa-like helmets in the group π
Very cool rings, I’ll have to try that out some time.
W00T! Fellow Stargate fans! This Wolf helmet reminds me more of “Xevoz” then Stargate though….I miss Xevoz….
π
Also, I likes me the ninja! I want to win worse then ever now!
I wish this blog was more popular….it gives blogs-thingys a good name.
Thanks so much, Jeff. It’s just how I’d envisaged it, down to that kind of sneer in his eyes. Two thumbs up from me! Now I’m gonna play around in photoshop and see if I can add some color…
Hey Imp, I’ve got the Flash source if you want, and can output it as high-rez EPS for importing into Photoshop if you want to get fancy. Or I can up the resolution when I output it as a PNG if you prefer that. Pretty much any size and format you like.
I can also give you a version that has the figure separate from the text separate from the background so you can assemble the bits yourself if you like.
Either way would be cool; I use photoshop CS2, but I think it can handle EPS formats. A PNG would be good too; less pixelation than JPEG. I appreciate it! If it turns out halfway decent, I’ll post the result so y’all can see it.
We want more animal inspired helmets.
Here’s Ghost Wolf, a character I created who’s based on Moon Knight:

Originally the armour was going to be blue-black and he was going to be called Dark Wolf, but most of the detail was lost, and too many vigilantes wear dark colours. So I thought it’d be interesting to make it white and silver, the idea being that, like his inspiration, you can see him coming
