Good show sir! Good show! 😀 I am extremely impressed with this one, although I would have liked if there was a body. My favorite part would most definately have to be the excellent shading and shadows. And I also like the absract, fall leaves background. It fits well with the character.
Yeah, that’s very nice work. Good to see you doing some shading instead of just the blocks of color (although those were good too).
The blocks of color are a more animated, cartoon look, while the shading’s more painterly. I am trying it all out, seeing what I like, but I think which way you go depends on the source material, and what you are trying to say with the illustration. Practically speaking, I can do the color blocks all in Flash, while the shading takes Photoshop. Thus, shading takes longer and quickly gets you out of “sketch” and into “illustration”, although frankly doing any color at all pretty much does the same.
