The gnomes of Pondside live in a cavern hidden behind a waterfall in the High Hills. While they are initially shy of strangers, they are quick to offer their hospitality. If you are ever lucky enough to be welcomed into their city, do please keep in mind that the massive dragon you will encounter is nothing more than a skull, and a sacred relic to the gnomes.
Here’s a clearer picture of the same gnome as before (Ammi) and her father, Mr. Mossyhat. They raise goats. The gnomes of Pondside are famous for their wonderful goat cheese.
Kelda is surprised to meet Ref, a strange young man from her village who disappeared months ago, so far from home. Is he a friend or a foe?
She sailed away on a sunny summer day,
On the back of a crocodile.
“You see,” said she, “he’s as tame as he could be!
I’ll ride him down the Nile.”
The croc winked his eye as the lady waved goodbye,
wearing a happy smile.
At the end of the ride, the lady was inside,
And the smile was on the crocodile.
There’s no story behind this one. I just felt like making a plague doctor. Can you imagine, everyone around you is dying, you are terribly ill, and someone looking like this comes to “treat” you?
