Your CDC challenge this week is to create an original heroic or villainous "space warrior" (something along the lines of an order of characters from a popular movie series maybe). Your submissions can be either human or alien in origin. These groups use laser swords…yeah…that’s what we’ll call them…which can be found in Items Right: Blades: Page 5.
The winning entrant will receive a HM3 version of their character rendered by yours truly.
The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way.
Rules for posts, contests, and challenges:
Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters.No characters based on Official RPG NPC's ( Non-Player Characters ). Please keep all submissions PG13. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. Only post characters that have been created solely using Hero Machine, and that you know for certain have never been entered in a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.
All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShack, PhotoBucket, or whatever);
- Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
- Please name your filesas [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.
Please make the link go directly to the image (like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this).
This contest will close on Monday, May 11 at 6:00pm Eastern
CARVER SHADE

Carver is a member of the Shi’Karn Sect of the Imperial Bounty Hunter’s Guild. They will go to nearly any end to fulfill a contract. Members of this sect are easily identifiable by two things; their unique Shadowed Death Mask and markings on their cloaks.
Carver grew up in the poorest slums of Taiphoor on the planet Ghoraja-Juun. A planet of near-human like beings. At the age of four his mother, an aging prostitute, sold him off to what she believed was the Imperial Military Academy in hopes of Carver having a better life. In truth she sold him to an aging Bounty Hunter, Jared Marikaas.
Marikaas was a harsh, but fair master, dealing out both praise and punishment as needed. Carver learned the ways of the Bounty Hunter’s guild quickly and by the age of ten was accompanying his master on various jobs. By fourteen he was allowed to go on his own on lower risk jobs. At 16, he qualified for ‘the passage’, the initiation rights to become a full member of the guild. It is also the time when a member of the Shi’Karn sect designs and builds their Shadowed Death Mask.
In the following years Carver rose quickly in the ranks of the Guild, building a reputation as an implacable hunter. Though skilled with nearly any weapon Carver favors two; an energy sword and a set of powered manacle/bolas.
I noticed the line “Your submissions can be either human or alien in origin.” AFTER I made this, but oh well. I hope making a droid does not disqualify me. Besides, I think this guy is adorable.

BK1-C was a bread-slicing droid employed by a wealthy family on the planet Paloom. Although the line of bread-slicing droids was a commercial failure, BK1-C was treated well by the family, and the children would always cheer as the small droid rolled around the dinner table slicing bread as needed. The children even decorated it with some stickers to show their appreciation. One day, the family was kidnapped by a terrorist organization and held for ransom. Out of grief and sorrow, BK1-C angrily struck the table and made a large cut in it. It realized that it had the tools necessary to extract revenge on those who kidnapped its beloved family. After getting a mechanic droid to amplify the laser of its bread slicer, it set off with a new purpose.
Dakkan-Rahl: Space Ranger who protects endangered species from galactic poachers. While he wields a dual-blade laser sword, Dakkan-Rahl prefers to keep his distance. He wears body armor which is rare among other space warriors in his order.

My entry this week is the Rise of Sir Benji Arhold:

Sorry the story is rushed, I had a tough week.
His allegiance was always for the famous Space Warriors of the Far Galaxy. His resume includes the success in many battles along the planet system Hamplain. At the age of 13 his mother fell ill and passed away from a raging plague on his home planet of Vertplan. The death of his mother was too hard for his father, who was then a member of the Space Warriors, and his father drank himself to death. With both parents gone, Benji left the school system and took his father’s place on the Space Wizards. His existence on the team was noticed, but his age was always in question. He was considered too young to take lead of any mission against the Empirical system of Pritani, but his actions in some of the famous battles were instrumental to the Space Warriors victories. His actions were also widely unnoticed and the credit for such victories were given to other officers.
Despite Benji’s lack of credit, he remained loyal to the Space Warriors until his 35th birthday. His home planet, where he remained stationed for as a protector, had an opening for a promotion. Benji put in for the promotion, but was turned down for a younger Space Wizard who never set foot on Vertplan. The young officer took control of the planet, and opted to ship Sir Benji to the stormy planet of Tempete.
Benji’s experience with the Space Warriors was weighing heavy on his spirit, and his mission of the planet Tempete was to bring order to the civil war. Quickly, Benji was able to notice that the locals of Tempete were facing oppression and misunderstanding. The Space Warriors believed their plans were going to bring civility to Tempete, but the resistance was being seen as in insult. Sir Benji was asked by the Space Warriors to make an example of the leader of the resistance. Instead, Benji began teaching the locals the secret ways of the Space Warriors, and found that the locals were able to tap into a mystical chi granting them unimaginable powers. Benji called his little group the Space Wizards, and with the gift of multiple laser swords, he plans to take the fight back to the Space Warriors.
