Character Design Challenge 302 – Pimp My Sleigh!

15465347-santa-claus-rides-in-a-reindeer-sleigh-he-hastens-to-give-gifts-before-christmas-this-is-fast-team-o-stock-photoWhile a sleigh pulled by flying reindeer is a quaint and surprisingly effective way to circumnavigate the globe, perhaps it is time for Santa to update his form of transportation.

Your challenge this week is to design a brand new ride for Mr. Claus.

There is no limit on number of entries this week.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. Only post characters that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

 All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShackPhotoBucket, or whatever);

  • Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
  • Please name your filesas [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.

Please make the link go directly to the image (like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this).

This contest will close on Sunday, December 18th at 9:00am Eastern.

  1. In creating a new ride for Santa I thought several things were imperitive.
    * Show Santa
    * Keep it small and personal
    * Give it a big payload for the toys
    * Keep it’s traditional red and yellow colors
    * Keep it festively decorated

    … all this helps the kids, and paranoid military adults, know this is Santa and not a terrorist attack or an alien invasion o

  2. Yay! I’m not the only entry!

  3. Nope
    three of us now.
    I had been busy with the holiday stuff and dialysis, but finally got to an entry. Probably my only one.
    I imagine there will be a couple more people enter Friday night or Saturday.

    Nice design!

  5. Set in hover mode here during an ill-advised base jump to deliver presents onto a trans-Atlantic flight on a commercial airliner, Santa’s other ride has a warp coil. It also has matching repeater snow gun and chocolate gun for those especially un-Christmassy places. It’s tricked out with VTOL gear for those hard-to-maneuver situations.
