Friday Open Critique Day #H2

Here it is again Friday. Some say the best day of the week, because it is the last day of the work week. Others same it’s just another day because they work weekends. For me I say it is Friday Open Critique Day. You know the deal, share with us and we will share with you.

About Hammerknight

I may not be the best with grammar and spelling but I try. And I don't mind having my mistakes pointed out.

  1. Yayyy! I’m so glad the OCD’s are still a go. And for a change I put up one of my Sandokan themed pictures.

Some good stuff here. However, the guy to our left (with his back to us) poses a few problems. It looks as if he’s looking off into the horizon AND trying to defend from the side… looks weird. In order for him to have his back to us and fighting the other guy he should be closer to his opponent (more to our right) and closer to us (i.e. not on the same plane as the other guy). Like this:

Hope that helps…. Another solution would be to try doing him sideways…..

The backside of the English guy needs a little work, but other then that it is a great picture.

I don’t know the reason why your post was placed in Moderator but Either Jeff or HammerKnight ( as the this posts Author ) needs to approve it. I will PM on the forum to let him know how to Moderator the post just encase he doesn’t know how.

Yet another character from the Collapse. Nikutai Dorei has a disregard for danger and very tough skin.

  10. Well, since it seems that it’s a slow day here, my comment offering help to Dionne Jinn is still in moderation (over 5 hours later) and my mom has called me for help, I’ll come back in a few more hours….

    Later y’all…..

  11. Worf, I just took a look at your comment in the Moderation section, as I said I can’t approve it because I am not the author of this post however I think I can guess at the reason it got kicked to moderation. I believe it was moderated because it contains multiple Links, Which isn’t a problem just needs to be approved which I messaged HammerKnight about.

  12. Ok, photobucket is giving me hell. I have the text on a document, does anyone know if I can link that here somehow?

  14. An exploration/ explanation of Minimalism
Minimalism is conveying the essence of something with as little information as possible, the problem with minimalism is that it is like walking towards a wall, but each step is half the distance of the last, you never GET there, but you do get close, ie this:

    Playing around with comics again

That is so beautiful, unknownblackpaper! My logical side says that there is no possible way of seeing all four beams from any given point on Earth, seeing that they hit to four separate continents, but that does not take away from the beauty of the illustration.

  16. unknown: very nice. I wanted a timeline somehow–something to tell me whether it was “the first day” or that it happened at the speed of light, or however long. Don’t know what to suggest to cause that, though.
Rosenstal: Super-hardness? I could see several other additional possibilities, but nothing certain. Maybe an action shot of use?
Dionne: A possibility that they didn’t name is the back to us placed just as he is, with sword arm very tense as it is bent, pointing the sword upward. That may work with his feet as placed as well, but it would look better if the head was a side or ‘negative 3/4 view’ (just tip of nose showing and the hilt up to his face. Difficult, but interesting.

  17. Harlequin: If you’re going to work on it, I would think the two places that could be better are her booty and his hairline.

Keric: you did well–better than I did with Gustave. I wound up making that scene busy.
Kicktar: Are the spikes him or implants? They look like they are part of something wearing a human suit.

  18. Herr_D, super-hardness, and the shot, and growing thorns. And the ability to add, lay a hand, as a transformer.

  19. Herr D: They’re intended as implants, how do you suggest I make them look more a part of him?

  20. Kicktar: For my view that may be as easy as eliminating the purple ‘cracking’ around the lip and adding scarring. For extra look, bulges under the skin would be a lot harder.

Rosenstal: that would require more than one action shot, huh?

  21. Is this critique still open for submissions?

  22. Herr D, Many shots.
